Sunny stood in the ruins of the Nameless Temple. He felt the gaze of the invisible watcher. Its true strength surprised him, so he felt a bit fearful when it watched him with such intensity.
Looking around, the Nameless Temple was a mess. He wanted to clean it up immediately, but there was one thing he had to do before. Going down to the component room, Sunny activated it.
There should have been one charge immediately available since it was sitting here for who knows how long, and it was ready last time as well.
It was ready, but before Sunny activated, he let one of his incarnations slide off and leave a tether there so he could come back to this side of the Dream Realm.
Sunny immediately activated it, and in an instant, he was back in the Forgotten Shore. Sunny then released the Divine Shadow Realm fragment he had in his Soul, encompassing the entire citadel.
Then Sunny summoned all of his shades. It was a lot, but way less than he used to have. In turn, it actually weakened his domain, which had a direct effect on his combat strength.
He gave the shades some simple commands. The citadel was still in ruins, and he needed to clean up. He made the Nightmare Creatures move the rubble, while the humans actually helped tidy up and replaced pieces missing from the Citadel with shadows.
He sent all of his incarnations to start cleaning the Citadel. Sunny thought about how he needed to increase the number of shades he had in his soul. Sunny received a decent amount with the chain of nightmares, but in reality, Sunny had hunted way, way more in the future. He created his old titan core by painfully receiving a few fragments every kill, so he killed an untold number.
This resulted in him having way more shades. Increasing his domain's strength. It was only Condemnation that gave him around six hundred fragments.
So Sunny thought about his options and decided that there were two ways, maybe three, to increase the strength of his domain. One was to go to the Burned Forest, and the other was to go into Godgrave again.
Godgrave's abominations' life span was incredibly short, unless you lived below and down. He didn't doubt that the most harrowing creatures prowled about. He also doubted that there was much. Slayer was around that area, and he remembered how tattered she looked when he first found her.
He wasn't very interested in that, and the final option was to go back to the Chain of Nightmares.
As it was, Sunny wasn't interested. He also needed Great Nightmare creatures in his army, and he couldn't it there.
So he decided to exterminate the Burned Forest. He also wanted to put another [Watchful Eye] past the Burned Forest so that eventually, when LO49 did arrive on the outskirts of the Dream Realm, he would witness it as well.
It took Sunny around a week to completely fix up the Citadel. All the years of Nightmare Creatures fighting for it over the centuries didn't help, but it showed how sturdy it was.
Sunny also wondered why they needed the Citadel to be so strong in the past. The cells down below were way too sturdy, and so were the walls. It could easily hold a Transcendent being. A Supreme being as well, but you would have to seal their aspect first.
He didn't know who the first ruler of the Citadel was, but he had a theory that this Citadel most likely came from the Storm God realm, that the Goddess was the one who owned the rights to depths, oceans, stars, guidance, and travel.
It was probably built there and was later used during the Doom War. It could provide a tactful advantage and, in most scenarios, bring untold strength to whoever needed aid.
Sunny could turn an entire battleground into his backyard if he wished. Although the Citadel would be an extremely threatening position.
Remembering the gaze he sensed in the beginning, Sunny thought about the poor fools who would get split apart if they attempted to enter.
Sunny didn't know how long it would take to conquer the Burned Forest, but again he did know that he would bring all his strength again.
It's been about a month and a half since he returned from the future, and every day feels like there's a guillotine hanging above his head, whatever that was. He heard some people explain that they were out of time once and used that specific analogy.
Well, Sunny was already dead, but he didn't want to die again.
Before he left, he wanted to create one more memory, but this time it would be the Mimic. The last time he went to the Burned Forest, he lost every battle in the beginning. This resulted in him not being able to receive any of the shards or the carcasses of the Nightmare Creatures.
Even when he defeated the first Great Tyrants, he was able to collect what was rightfully his. No doubt the Nightmare Creatures were also eating it to gain strength.
The one memory he wanted to create was actually not for him. It was for Mimic. That gluttonous creature would be equipped with the strongest vacuum for a battlefield.
Later, it would be a pain to get it to split gains with Fiend, but that would be a problem for tomorrow. Today, he needed to create a vacuum, and then he would set off to the burned forest.
He wouldn't be arriving with two incarnations this time but with all of them. Even then, Sunny knew he would lose the first few battles or flee. Although he was a titan, his domain was vastly weaker, and he knew the moment he showed up, the battle would way more different.
But that was alright, Sunny had a good plan on how he would kill the first Tyrant with relative ease, but after that, his progress would slow and nearly come to a halt for a while.
Before Sunny set off, he made the graves once more at the Forgotten Shore and planted the tree in the Nameless Temple.
