Maya's POV
I lay sprawled among the grapevines, my pulse still racing from the intensity of what had just transpired between us. Sebastian had stepped away to answer his grandfather's call, leaving me there with the remnants of my torn dress clinging to my heated skin. The black lace with crimson details seemed to shimmer in the pale moonlight, and the cool evening air brushed against my flushed body, gradually bringing me back down to earth.
Time seemed to crawl as I gazed up at the constellation of stars above, my thoughts a chaotic whirlwind of confusion and longing.
What was happening between us? This arrangement had clear boundaries—six months maximum. Nothing more than a contract. I was never meant to let my guard down like this. For Sebastian, everything remained straightforward. Physical attraction. Release. But for me, the lines had become dangerously blurred.
