Maya's POV
The parking garage was almost deserted, offering me a brief sanctuary to steady my racing thoughts. By now, Victor was probably announcing my resignation to anyone who would listen at the convention.
Within minutes, my phone would light up with confused messages from Bridget and my former colleagues, all wondering what had happened and why I'd walked away from everything.
But before I faced those inevitable conversations, there was something far more pressing I needed to handle.
I turned around and walked back into the building, this time steering clear of the main exhibition hall. Finding Sebastian was my only priority right now.
I spotted Dominic before anyone else, supervising last-minute tweaks to some digital display setup. The moment he noticed me approaching, his eyebrows lifted in obvious surprise.
"Well, if it isn't Maya Hayes." His smile seemed cordial enough, though clearly guarded. "Word is you had quite an eventful day."
