Part 7
And from behind, his head appeared scattered like a burst watermelon. This meant that Subhash was moving very rapidly towards his death. It was necessary to know how his condition became like this, but more important than that was to save his life for now.
Therefore, their father shouted— "Ravi, quickly take out your ambulance so that he can be taken to the hospital and saved!" But Ravi had already rushed towards the garage even before his father had spoken.
The father, the daughter, and one brother—all three reached Subhash with tears in their eyes, but Subhash's condition had become so bad that neither could his head be lifted and placed in a lap, nor was it clear how they should lift him from the ground. Because most of the bones in his body were broken, it felt as if the remaining intact bones would also crackle (chata-kh jayengi) while lifting him.
The Inspector had just made up his mind to strain his brain to think how Subhash's condition had suddenly become like this, when just then, there was a vibration in the Inspector's mobile. The Inspector was still preparing to take the mobile out of his pocket, but both the siblings and their father immediately understood that Ravi had just left from here and surely some big danger was about to arise for his life now.
"The Enigma has sent a message again." The Inspector had just uttered these words after taking the mobile out of his pocket when those three ran towards the garage, calling out for Ravi.
A fifteen-foot empty space was left on all three sides of the Haveli, and that garage was built quite far ahead on the right side of the Haveli. Fearing a mishap, the Inspector and both constables also lunged after them. Coming to the turn on the right side of the Haveli from the back side, the Inspector, while reducing his speed, read the already opened WhatsApp message aloud:
"Then everyone's 'Khaat' (deathbed) will be ready,
When the snake bites Ravi (Saanp lega jab Ravi ko kaat)."
Below was written the name of The Enigma, which the Inspector did not consider necessary to read, and seeing the delicacy of the situation, he also ran after them.
The Inspector must have run only ten paces when Ravi came out screaming from the garage in front— "Papa— Papa, save me Papa— a snake has bitten me!"
When the terrified and frantic Ravi came before them, once again a death-like cold shiver ran through everyone's bodies. Major incidents were happening so rapidly that no one was getting a chance to think or understand anything. Those young boys, the lamps of the Sharma clan, were being put to death one after another.
But The Enigma had created such a strange and confusing atmosphere in which the mind could perceive that deaths were occurring one after another, but every new moment that arrived was passing by piercing their hearts.
