On the rooftop of his office, under city lights, he said the words he had never said to anyone:
"I don't know when it happened. But when I look at you… the world makes sense."
She stared at him.
"You scare me," she whispered.
"Then let me be the only thing you're not afraid of."
And she kissed him.
