It had been a a few days since I thrown into this new world for no reason. I remembered a hazy memory of pushing someone back from being hit by an incoming truck. Although I had save the kid, the same couldn't be said for me since i was the one being hit by the truck. I felt my ribs breaking and my lungs filling with bloods as i watched the kid panic.
Heh, atleast my useless life of endlessly working at an office job have a meaning... Now, I don't know if fate is toying with me but it suddenly brought me into this world with no clear intention.
My current name in this world is Corin Blackwell. I was an orphan... Fitting for someone like me. No one wanted to adopt me either as i was already passed the ages for being adopted. So the caregiver had to unfortunately kick me out.
Atleast they had given me somewhere to stay for a month before i was fully kicked out. In the meantime, i had to find a job and a living space all by myself.. such is the way of the world. Afterall, this world is unlike my modern world. It's still in medieval era where might and power dominate all. Even more so with the introduction of magic and skills.
Magic and skills is two completely different thing yet similar in nature. Mana exist all around us with magic is they way to use that mana for oneself. With one mastery, a mage could summon a fire just with a mana. Of course, the fire need to have the right condition like enough oxygen and pressure...
Meanwhile skills... It is something gained from exploring the towers. Towers are like dungeon but with numerous floor. It is a rupture in the space. Individual that explore the tower is called explorer as they are task to explore the unknown tower floors and possibly get good loots. Of course, it come with it own risks as there are countless monster hidden inside of it.
I had bought a sword with small shield for my left arm as i had registered at the 'Excalibur' branch that manage one of the world great towers. The Excalibur came from the ex-leader that wield a long sword with fire that burn everything mercilessly. Though, it was only a legend since the story had been passed down from generation to generation.
I was a coward... My first experience with the tower wasn't so great as I had ran for my life from wolfs... I don't how I had survive the encounter but i keep coming back. I was able to hunt my first creature. Though, it was only a small rabbit and that was only because i had stay still for so hours at the second floor.
On the third entry, I didn't find the exit portal as my unmature mind had accidently entered a portal to the next floor. The third floor is 40% forest and 60% plains. Well, my own luck had led me to the forest and it was about 8 PM. The sun had already went down and I couldn;t see anything.
"Fuck, I know I shouldn't have enter that portal... I thought that was the exit portal."
I know I wasn't safe in this forest because I heard wolfs howling in the distance with sounds of footsteps...
I hurriedly bring my emergency torches out and light it on fire to make the wolfs stay away. The fire illuminate the forest as I fianlly catch a glimpse of the wolfs... There were atleast 2 wolfs circling me and more is coming.
"Ugh... Get away, you bastard!"
I swipe my torches at this graywolfs... Gray wolfs are 1.5x bigger than a normal wolfs. The wolfs jump back from my rouch as 4 wolfs had already surround me. One of the wolfs was leaking saliva unto the ground like I was their snack...
"Fuck you! I'm not letting you eat me"
I keep my distance from them as my torches made them scared to approach me... or so i thought as suddenly one of the world jump with its mouth open.
"Guh!.."
I manage to make a cut on the wolf aiming for my legs but i couldn't defend against another wolf that manage to bite my other leg.
"Fuck!"
The pain was unimaginable as andrenaline course through my whole body and keeping me going. I then smash the pommel of my sword against one of the gray wolf biting on my legs as i manage to crack it skull.
"Take that!"
My leg was injured as i prepare my shield against one of the incoming wolfs. I manage to block it mouth and push it as the wolfs roll to the ground. Then another wolf tried to bite my head but i manage to dodge... Though i had miscalculate as I fell to ground by an exposed roots.
another wolf took this sweet opportunity and jump but i had strike it stomach with my sword and cleanly penetrate it guts as blood sprayed across my torso. I couldn't pull the sword out it time as i throw my sword and the wolf penetrated by it away to the ground. This is because another wolf was coming for me as i slam my left hand shield against it head.
"Fuck! die die die!"
I keep hitting the wolf head with my shield as i turned it to mushed with the blood all over my arms... The wolf ran away from seeing how i destroyed his companion... Well i wasn;t in a good shape myself. I would bled out sooner or later but yet im feeling so... Hungry. Why?...
"Why... Why am I here anyways?... I wanted to go home! hah... Fucking bastard."
I then looked down on the badly mangled wolf as my body is feeling so hungry at the moment...
"I'm gonna eat you, you bastard!.."
I went to grab my sword out of the wolf stomach and roughly cut it skin open. Then, I bite on the wolf raw meat. It taste horrible yet I was so hungry that I had no reason left.
I ate and ate until there is bones and small chunk of meat. Then, my vision blur...
"What... a fucking way to live."
Unexpectedly, I felt my pain slowly decreasing but i was so tired... so sleepy.
Then my eyes finally shut down.
