Chapter 1 - Farmer cooperative societies

In india 75% of population depends on agriculture. And most of farmers are small and mariginal farmers. Literacy rate was very less in these farmers with this the middlemen take most of the farmers profit which results in debts to farmers. As results of this, the famers are not in position to cope up the vicious circle of debts. To overcome this and to improve the socio economic condition of farmers the collective action of farmers in terms of farmers coperative socities are came into existance

Farmers coperative socities : the group of people voluntarily coming together for collective action of famers working together for common goal is called the farmer coperative societies

Importance :

-main moto to service without profit

-it was concenrated to one place for definite period of time

-all farmers in cs have equal share

-for development of famers
