Shaking my head, I reread the runes that served as descriptions.
The runes said:
[When the war began, gods, demons, giants, and mortals fought in a war that shook the foundations of the world. From that cruel and bloody war where both gods and demons died alongside all species, the last God standing, seeing the destruction, dragged fragments of the destroyed worlds to build an enormous kingdom. And to ensure the kingdom would sustain itself, he used the power and souls of the fallen to grant mortals talent, so that they might ascend through mortality toward divinity.]
And that was just the general description. There was still the part about the ranks, but this was more important.
First, there was a war... No, it would be more accurate to say that in the past there was a devastating war where gods, demons, giants, and mortals participated.
But why did the war start? And how exactly did it end? How could gods die?
Shaking my head, I left those questions for later. I still don't know anything about this world.
For now, only one thing is certain: the last god created ten ranks in the world, or also a kind of system where mortals could ascend to become new deities.
That was the most logical option, but I felt something was wrong.
Sighing, I focused on the other part.
It said:
[Ranks]
Rank F
Rank E
Rank D
Rank C
Rank B
Rank A
Rank S
Rank SS
Rank SSS
Rank Divine
Surprising, right? Cliché? Absolutely.
There are ten ranks in total, and currently I'm at the first one.
The higher the rank, the more powerful you become. Although how to move from one rank to another I still don't know, and there's no additional description in this system.
With this, it's practically confirmed: I'm in a world with a ranking system. Of mana? Magic? Power? Well, it doesn't matter at all. The point remains the same: this world is totally and irremediably crazy.
It's like grabbing every piece of story you've seen or read in your life and putting them all together, and out comes this confusing amalgamation.
Or that's how I thought this world was made.
The lack of information is a problem, and I still don't fully understand the system.
Let's set aside the ranks and all that for later. Now the most important thing is to keep discovering new things.
Let's look at the skills and what those Dungeon Points are.
Moving down, I got to my skills.
[Skills]
[Dungeon Domain]
[Dungeon Bonding]
[Dungeon System]
[Dungeon Editor]
[Dungeon Expansion]
[Monster Shop]
Good! Let's start with this one.
When I pressed Dungeon Domain, the runes appeared giving a description.
The runes said:
Dungeon Domain: [Total territory that encompasses your domain]
Huh?
That's it?
Where's my super detailed explanation, useless system?!
Tsk... let's see the next one.
Dungeon Bonding: [You are bonded with your Dungeon. There is nothing that happens inside that you won't know.]
Well, damn, that's what I'm talking about!
From the description, and if I take it literally, it means I have a bond with this place. In fact, now that I pay a little attention, my vision split in two: on one hand I could see my own shadow body standing in the middle of the room, but I could also see the wall at the same time.
It was a bit confusing, truth be told.
Focusing on a single vision, I decided on my shadow body.
Dungeon System: [A system that helps you manage, organize, and strengthen your Dungeon. It has many useful functions.]
I felt a smile spread across my face.
I like how that sounds! Now the next one.
Dungeon Editor: [By using this skill, you can create and edit the floors of your Dungeon, removing or placing elements as you wish.]
I blinked, a little confused.
Well, I don't have much to say. I've played games of this style, so I more or less know how to use it.
Now let's see the other two.
Dungeon Expansion: [Extend your territory to make your Dungeon larger and deeper.]
Monster Shop: [Through this skill, you can summon monsters for your Dungeon or create them directly.]
Interesting.
Now I understand.
Dungeon Domain and Dungeon Expansion are similar skills. Domain is the amount of territory I have that I can control or sense, while Dungeon Expansion is adding new territory under my domain.
Understanding this, I felt a kind of clarity.
Sensing the cave, I extended my senses further, but only reached the outside of the cave. In total, my territory could only encompass about fifty or sixty meters around. That was the total amount of territory I possessed, and the cave where I was occupied exactly half of that territory.
As for the Monster Shop, well, it was what the name said: I could buy monsters and place them in the Dungeon, or simply create them, although I had no idea how.
Looking at the system screen, I noticed an interesting icon that wasn't there before.
The icon was a kind of yellowish rune symbol with a counter that continuously increased.
First it was one, then two, three, then five, then seven, and it just kept growing.
When I focused on the icon, another description appeared.
Dungeon Points: [By absorbing mana from the environment, it converts into points that you can use to spend in the system, buy monsters, and any objects you need.]
Hmm... I see.
So, these Dungeon Points are the currency the system uses to buy what it shows, and I obtain them passively by transforming mana into points directly. That's good to know.
Now, let's look at the system shop before continuing and deciding what I'll do next.
