The weather was beautiful and calm, the kind of day that made everything feel peaceful. Rowan Dominic was enjoying a lovely picnic with his family near the park. A gentle breeze moved through the trees as laughter filled the air.
Elena Liliana her wife sat quietly on the picnic blanket, lovingly watching over their youngest daughter, Erin Ava, who was only 5 years old and fast asleep beside her. Her tiny chest rose and fell softly with each breath. Elena smiled warmly and brushed a small strand of hair from her daughter's face.
Not far away, Rowan stood watching his twins, Emily Angela and Enily Angeline, who were only 7 years old. The girls ran across the grass, laughing and chasing each other in a joyful game of tag. Their giggles echoed through the park as Rowan smiled proudly, his heart filled with warmth at the sight of his daughters enjoying such a carefree moment.
"You can't catch me!" Emily teased as she ran faster.
Enily groaned but kept chasing after her sister. Suddenly, raindrops began to fall from the sky. Emily stopped running and looked up.
Just moments ago, the sky had been so bright and beautiful… and now it was slowly turning into a rainy afternoon.
"Aha! Got you!" Enily shouted happily as she grabbed Emily's shirt.
"Emily! Enily! Come quickly! We have to go home!" Elena called while hurriedly packing their picnic things. Rowan gently carried little Erin in his arms, careful not to wake her from her peaceful sleep.
Emily grinned mischievously.
"Whoever reaches Mom and Dad first wins!"
"Okay! On the count of three!" Enily said, getting into a running position.
"Ready… one… two…"
Before Enily could even say three, Emily suddenly dashed forward.
"Hey! That's cheating!" Enily complained loudly.
Emily only laughed as she ran toward their parents, her laughter mixing with the sound of the falling rain.

Later that evening, in the large bungalow where the Rowan family lived, Rowan was searching for his twins as the girls had invited him to play hide and seek.
"Hmm… where are the two little troublemakers?" Rowan said dramatically, pretending he could not find them.
But he had already spotted a small piece of clothing sticking out from the kitchen counter.
Inside the counter cabinet, Emily and Enily were hiding together, giggling quietly without realizing Emily's shirt was sticking out.
Rowan slowly walked closer.
Then suddenly—
"Found you!"
"Ahhh!" the twins screamed in shock when their father opened the cabinet door.
Emily immediately looked at Enily.
"It's your fault! If you didn't giggle so loudly, Dad wouldn't have found us!"
"What?! That wasn't me! You were the one giggling!" Enily protested.
Rowan laughed.
"Hey, hey… in the end, I still found you both, didn't I?"
He began tickling them.
"Hahaha! Stop it, Dad!" Emily and Enily laughed while trying to push his hands away.
At that moment, Elena walked downstairs carrying little Erin in her arms. She looked at them with an amused smile.
"What are you three doing?" she asked softly.
"We're playing hide-and-seek! Want to join us, Mom?" Enily asked sweetly.
Elena chuckled.
"No, you two can continue playing. But honey," she said to Rowan, "your friend will be arriving any minute. We should get ready." said Elena softly letting Erin down.
"Who's coming?" Emily asked curiously.
"It's Dad's old friend," Rowan explained. "We rarely see each other, so I invited them to our house."
"Them?" Enily asked. "Are there many people?"
"No," Rowan said with a gentle smile. "He's bringing his family. I heard they have a son. Maybe you girls can play with him."
"Okay, Dad!" the twins replied excitedly.
Meanwhile, little Erin sat quietly on the floor, happily playing with her doll.
Just as their conversation ended, the doorbell suddenly rang.
Elena looked at Rowan knowingly.
"I told you… it must be them."
Rowan smiled.
"Yes, honey. I'll open the door."
The children followed behind him curiously as he opened the front door.
Standing outside were three figures with warm smiles.
"Hi!" the couple greeted.
"Richard! It's been such a long time!" Rowan exclaimed happily as the two men embraced like old friends.
"Hello," Richard's wife greeted Elena warmly.
"Hello. Please come in," Elena said with a welcoming smile.
As they stepped inside, Elena noticed a small boy standing quietly between them.
"Oh… this must be your son?" she asked.
"Yes," Richard replied proudly. "His name is Josh. Josh, say hello."
"Hi," the little boy said shyly with a sweet smile.
Emily and Enily froze for a moment, staring at him.
He looked… very handsome.
Meanwhile, Erin simply held Emily's hand, blinking quietly.
"Hello, Josh," Elena said kindly.
"Oh my, you have such lovely daughters," Richard's wife said warmly.
"Thank you," Elena replied. "This is Emily, Enily, and the youngest, Eliana. Girls, say hello."
"Hi…" the twins said together.
Josh smiled shyly.
Then suddenly—
"Wow… you're handsome!" the twins said at the same time.
The adults burst into laughter while Josh's face immediately turned bright red with embarrassment.
"How about you kids play together?" Rowan suggested.
"Sure! Come on, Josh!" the twins said excitedly as they grabbed his hands.
Emily held Josh's right hand while Enily held his left, pulling him toward their playground.
Emily used her other hand to hold little Erin's hand as well.
The three girls happily dragged the shy boy outside while the parents stayed behind, catching up and sharing stories about their lives.
"How old are you, Josh?" Enily asked curiously.
"I'm 12 years old," Josh replied.
"Oh! You're older than us. Like…" Enily began counting on her small fingers, her brows furrowed in concentration.
"5 year gap, you fool," Emily said teasingly.
Enily gasped dramatically. "You said a bad word! I'm going to tell Dad!"
"Go ahead and tell him," Emily replied, sticking out her tongue. "I bet Dad won't believe you anyway."
Enily stood there in shock and let out an annoyed grunt.
Josh, who had been quietly watching the twins argue, couldn't help but chuckle softly at their playful quarrel.
And at that moment, without even realizing it, the twins may have just discovered their very first innocent childhood crush.
They simply smiled brightly as they ran, still holding Josh's hands.
