Chapter 2 - connections between Parv, RV, and Vihaan

The night was silent, the room wrapped in quiet. Somia stood near the window, lost in thoughts of someone. Suddenly, Parv's voice came from behind.

Parv: Somia.

Somia (smiling): You came?

Parv: You called me, and I didn't come? Could that ever happen?

Somia: No.

Their conversation flowed smoothly until Parv's phone rang. The screen lit up with Vihaan's name.

Parv: Hello.

Vihaan: Where are you?

Parv: Hotel Maharana, five-star.

Vihaan: You mean Somia is with you?

Parv: Yes.

Vihaan: But why are you staying there?

Parv: The rain was heavy.

Vihaan: Okay, take your time and get home safely.

Parv: Okay, bye.

Parv ended the call and turned back to Somia. Silence returned to the room—but now with a hint of unease.

Meanwhile, RV was sitting on her bed, studying intently. Books were open, and her focus was absolute. Suddenly, Mahi came and sat beside her.

Mahi: Aren't you going to sleep?

RV: No, I need to study.

Mahi: All this studying, what will you do with it?

RV: Until I study, how will I gain knowledge? And without understanding, how will I help Bhaiya in his company? If I join without preparation and make a mistake… Bhaiya built Dad's company to where it is today through his own hard work.

Mahi: Don't you want your own company too? Bhaiya has already taken Dad's company forward.

RV: I want to take Dad's company to greater heights too. Two advantages—first, the company grows stronger; second, I get closer to Bhaiya.

Mahi: Rudra Bhaiya loves you a lot.

RV: I know.

Mahi: Then talk to him once.

RV: I'll do something good for him first, then!

Mahi: Alright, future CEO!

At that moment, Mahi's phone rang.

Mahi: Hello? What? Okay, fine. (Call ends)

RV: Who was calling at this hour?

Mahi: Bhaiya. They're leaving for India tomorrow.

RV: Don't tell me you're going too?

Mahi: Not saying, but—

RV: So you're going.

Mahi: Yes, everyone is going, so I am too.

RV: Fine. You go.

Mahi: You're not coming?

RV: No, too much work here.

Mahi: It's just one day.

RV: No, no, no.

RV got up and lay down on the bed.

Mahi: RV—

But by then, RV was already asleep.

Meanwhile, Aashka stood in her nightwear.

Vihaan: What are you wearing?

Aashka: Don't you know what I want?

Vihaan: No. Tomorrow we go home, and the wedding is in a few days. Everything after that!

Aashka: You mean now?

Vihaan: Whatever happens, after the wedding.

Aashka: You're completely different from others.

Vihaan: Why? I didn't seem good?

Aashka: Anyone else would say it directly, but you're different. I love you.

Vihaan: Me too.

Aashka lay down on the bed. Vihaan quietly left the room.

Aashka: Where are you going?

Vihaan: Home. The way is clear now.

Aashka: Okay, bye!

Outside, Somia stepped out, ready. Parv froze as he saw her.

Somia: What's wrong?

Parv: You look so beautiful.

Somia: Your intentions don't feel right.

Parv: What do you mean?

Somia: You're smart!

She came and sat beside him.

Somia: Now I understand!

Parv: But—

Somia: What can be done tomorrow, do today. What can be done today, do now.

Parv: But before the wedding—

Somia: Why are you stuck in old-fashioned thinking?

Parv: You want this?

Somia: What's wrong with it? The wedding is happening anyway.

Parv gently lifted her.

The next morning, Parv and Vihaan were at the airport.

Parv: When will your beauty queen arrive?

Vihaan: She'll come. When will Mahi arrive?

Just then, Mahi arrived, and Parv and Vihaan embraced her.

Parv: Here she is!

Vihaan: How are you?

Mahi: Very good.

Parv: Mahi's here, but yours—

Vihaan: She'll come!

Mahi asked about the girl Vihaan had seen without telling anyone. Soon, Aashka arrived with her bag and purse.

Parv: Your beauty queen has arrived.

Mahi: This will be your sister-in-law.

Aashka: Hello, who's this?

Vihaan: This is Mahi, Parv's sister.

Aashka: Hi, I'm Aashka.

Mahi: Namaste, sister-in-law.

They prepared to board the flight, faced a few hiccups with tickets, but finally got them. Parv called Vihaan while walking.

Vihaan: Reached?

Parv: Yes.

Vihaan: Okay, we'll talk after, because now—

Parv: Okay.

The airport was bustling with people.

Mahi: Where's Bhaiya?

Parv: They'll arrive.

Somia (slightly tired): Shall we go?

Parv: Okay.

They walked quickly. Parv pulled out his phone.

Vihaan: If you'd waited a bit longer, what then?

Parv: Sorry, yaar. Somia was tired.

Vihaan: Wow! Does she see anything in front of her girlfriend?

Parv: And you?

Vihaan: Yes, my shoe. And my own head.

Parv (laughing): Vihaan!

Vihaan: Alright, I'll keep it. Bye.

Parv: Bye.

Parv ended the call and moved ahead. The air was filled with light laughter—and a subtle tension of storms yet to come.

Meanwhile, RV, Nidhi, Deepti, and Swara were on a call. The mood was light, joking, but RV's face revealed unease.

Swara (excited): I sent the photo. How's my child?

Deepti (laughing): No, no, you'll be my daughter-in-law.

Nidhi: Come on, tell us. Both boys are good, why think so much?

Swara: Tell us quickly!

Deepti: Yes, we're waiting for your answer.

Swara (smiling): I'm excited to bring her home as my daughter-in-law.

Deepti: She'll be my daughter-in-law, right?

Swara: No, Deepti. RV will be my daughter-in-law.

RV's patience broke.

RV (firmly): Both of you calm down. Mom, I don't want to get married. Does anyone decide marriage by seeing photos?

Nidhi (softly): Son, both boys are good. Don't you trust your Bhaiya?

RV (calm but clear): I do. But I'm not ready to marry yet.

Suddenly, Deepti and Swara heard voices nearby.

Deepti: Here it is, I'll keep it.

Swara: And it's here too.

Nidhi: Okay, bye.

RV (coldly): Bye.

The call ended. RV stared at her phone for a few seconds, then threw it on the bed, frustrated and confused.

Her eyes asked a question clearly—will everyone really make decisions about her life without her?

And the biggest question—will the one she's running from turn out to be her fate?
