Julian redirected the point of his gun towards the back of the governor and chose his steps steadily and slowly, trailing behind them. Despite the nervousness he remained calm but if one looked closely you could see that his hands was shaking every now and then.
"You have thirty seconds more to open" leader shouted in announcement as he fixed his gun on one of the restrained security guards.
The Governor slowly and nervously open the pin pad to the vault and with shaky hands entered a pin but it was declined. He entered another pin wrongly on his second attempt. Before he could even attempt the third try, two banging shots resounded behind making the room descend into chaotic noise.
Julian turned around in haste to understand what was happening but the scene that welcomed him was a security guard lying down in a pool of blood. "What dafuk is wrong with you. We agreed that no killing so why the f*ck is your gun loaded in the first place?" Julian shouted in anger and pointed his gun at the leader.
"You dumbass, he tried to play smart and intentionally delay us, can't you see. He entered two different set of codes as though he had never known the pin to the vault" The masked leader said and moved to the governor pointing his gun to his head. "One more attempt to prove stubborn and it will be your head exploding next, dare me" The governor unable to find any words hurriedly went back to opening the vault with shaky hands.
A few seconds later, a beeping sound was heard as the vault opened up with a white light revealing the piles of dollars arranged in it. The two masked robbers who stood behind the governor whistled in satisfaction at what was in front of them. "Will you f*cken get to work or you are going to stand there all day". The leader shouted breaking Julian out of his earlier daze .
The two turned around and dashed inside the vault and began packing the money black bags. Seeing the money, Julian felt a renewed hope and strength as he immediately joined the others to pack the money. After five minutes, eight bags of money has been packed and ready to be moved out. "Hey man are you okay" one of the masked people who noticed Julian's heavy breathing tapped him as he locked the black pistol in his waist armor holder.
"Yeah, yeah" Lian said. "Let's go" he said and both took one bag each and made their way to the main banking hall.
"All right, ladies and gentleman, thank you for your cooperation. See you all on the other side of the world. Don't worry, we robbed the bank not you so the bank is going to pay your money". The leader announced with excitement in his voice. "Unfortunately, some tried to prove stubborn so I had to take one life to set example"
He made a catholic cross on the dead body of the security guard and muttered the words 'Rest in peace'. Just then the sound of a police siren sprung from a distance turning their faces that was hiding behind the masks grim.
"Sh*t cops" the leader cursed and turned to the others. "K1, K2 stay and hold them back if necessary. The rest, to the back door, now!" The leader shouted and pushed the the governor who was their escape shield forward.
With K1 and K2 guarding the rear of the group, the remaining five including the leader, Julian and Moses made their way towards the back of the building where their escape machines were parked in wait for them.
As soon they passed through the back entrance that led to the underground car park, the sound of fire exchange was heard coming from the main hall as screams and shouts reverberated in the building. The leader who was the last to pass through the door shoved the Governor to the side as he had finished serving his purpose.
Just as they stepped out two black cars pulled up with the Van they had used earlier at the rear.
Two face masked individuals dressed in all black jumped out of the black highlander and took position to cover them in case of approaching cops. At least that was what they thought.
Just then as if time had slowed down, Julian watched as the leader of their group take off his mask revealing his short blonde hair and sharp facial features and above all a familiar face.
He saw him wink at the two people serving as their cover and the same time K1 and K2 emerged from the building with K1 leaning on K2 for support.
He didn't know what happened but the two immediately fell down face flat as fast as they appeared.
At first he thought the police had caught up on them but what he heard next brought him face to face with reality.
He heard many rounds of banging shots and turned to see the leader and a beautiful young lady with short black hair standing with a devilish smile plastered on their face.
Realisation dawned on him as what had just happened sank in. He staggered back and looked around for Moses but realised that he was surrounded from both sides by four people and the rest were lying in pools of blood.
He raised his gun for a gun point and rotated it from both sides every second. "I know your little girlfriend needs to be saved so let me make it simple for you. Hand over the cash, I give you the money you need and then you go save your girl. Simple right." The leader proposed.
"What if I refuse." Julian asked. "Haha, Then good luck in hell. You don't stand a chance with an empty gun" the leader said with a grin.
"Maybe you are right…." Julian said in a low tone as if ready to surrender. "Or maybe not" as soon as the words reached their ears, countless bullets were short in ever direction prompting them to seek cover. Julian ran to the nearest highlander and jumped in. Within a split of seconds, he started the car and drove off at a crazy speed as if his life depended on it with only one destination in mind.
"Let's go. I know where he's heading" the leader said with a devilish smile.
