Chapter 1 - Unnamed

The Passenger of the Last Train

Page One: The Last Train

It was deep night in the city of Kolkata. Winter fog covered everything in a pale, ghostly haze. The last train of the Kolkata Metro left at 11:55 PM.

Mousumi had been late because of office work. Everyone had already left—only she and the security guard remained. In a hurry, she rushed into the metro station. The last train stood silently at the platform.

After boarding, she noticed there were only three other passengers in the entire compartment: an elderly man, a woman sitting with her head bowed, and a small boy staring directly at her.

As the train started moving, the lights flickered once and then came back on.

That's when Mousumi realized—the boy was gone.

She thought he must have moved to another compartment. But something felt terribly wrong

Page Two: The Strange Station

At the next station, the train stopped. The doors opened—but there were no lights outside. The station name board wasn't visible.

Mousumi looked out the window. The entire platform was empty, swallowed by fog. Suddenly she heard a small voice whisper:

"Didi… don't get down…"

She turned around—and saw the little boy standing right behind her seat. His eyes were completely white.

Her throat went dry. She tried to scream, but no sound came out.

The old man slowly lifted his head. A strange smile curved on his lips.

"You've seen him now, haven't you? You can't get down anymore."

The doors closed. The train began moving again.

Page Three: The Lost Years

Mousumi's phone suddenly lost network. She checked the time—12:15. A few minutes later she looked again—it was 2:45!

Sweat ran down her forehead. The lights inside the train had turned red. Scratch marks covered the walls—as if someone had tried to escape.

The little boy slowly stood in front of her.

"Didi… do you know where this train goes?"

Her voice trembled. "No…"

The boy whispered,

"This train goes where everyone is forgotten…"

Suddenly the entire compartment became empty. Only Mousumi remained.

In the train window, instead of her reflection, she saw the face of an old, pale, terrifying woman staring back at her.

Page Four: The Truth

Suddenly the train stopped. The doors opened. This time, the platform lights were on.

A station master shouted,

"Madam! Are you alright? This train went to the depot an hour ago!"

Mousumi couldn't understand what was happening. As she stepped down, the station master said in shock:

"Do you know, five years ago there was an accident on this line? A little boy and an old man died on the last train…"

Mousumi's eyes widened. Slowly, she turned back.

The train was gone.

Only in the fog, a small voice echoed—

"Didi… we'll meet again…"

Mousumi never boarded the last train at night again.

But sometimes, in the deep of night, she still hears—

The horrifying screech of metro brakes in the darkness.

Page Five: The Sound That Followed

Mousumi tried to return to normal life.

Days passed. Weeks passed.

She avoided the last train. She avoided empty platforms. She avoided looking at children for too long.

But the sound never left her.

Every night at exactly 11:55 PM, her bedroom clock would stop ticking.

Not slow down.

Stop.

And in the silence that followed—

She heard it.

A distant metallic screech.

Like brakes grinding against iron tracks.

The first time it happened, she convinced herself it was imagination.

The second time, she turned off her phone.

The third time—

She heard a whisper outside her bedroom door.

"Didi…"

Page Six: The Footsteps

One night, unable to bear the fear, Mousumi opened her door.

The corridor light flickered.

Her apartment building was silent.

But the lift indicator was moving.

Up.

Down.

Up.

Down.

Stopping at no floor.

She swallowed hard and pressed the lift button.

It stopped on her floor.

The doors slowly slid open.

No one inside.

Except—

On the fogged metal wall—

Small handprints.

At child-height.

Page Seven: The News Article

The next day, Mousumi went to the metro office.

She needed answers.

An old employee hesitated before showing her an archived newspaper clipping from five years ago.

"Midnight Metro Derailment — Two Confirmed Dead."

Victims:

A six-year-old boy.

An elderly retired schoolteacher.

Mousumi's hands trembled.

She looked at the attached photographs.

It was them.

The boy.

The old man.

Same hollow eyes.

Same faint smile.

But something else froze her blood.

In the background of the accident photo—

A blurred image.

A woman standing near the exit door.

Looking back.

It looked like—

Her.

Page Eight: The Forgotten Memory

That night, the memories returned.

Five years ago, she had been on the last train.

She remembered now.

The train had jerked violently.

People screamed.

Smoke filled the compartment.

The little boy had been crying.

The old man had asked for help.

Mousumi had been near the door.

The emergency exit had been partly open.

She could have pulled the boy.

She could have reached the old man.

But she didn't.

She ran.

She survived.

And she never looked back.

Until now.

Page Nine: The Return

At 11:55 PM, her phone buzzed.

No caller ID.

She answered.

Only static.

Then—

"Why did you leave us?"

Her blood turned cold.

The lights in her room turned red.

The walls around her bedroom began to vibrate.

Like a train passing through the building.

Her mirror reflected not her room—

But the inside of a metro compartment.

Page Ten: The Summoning

The next night, she found herself standing at the metro station.

She didn't remember coming there.

The platform was empty.

Fog rolled across the tracks.

And then—

Headlights appeared inside the tunnel.

The last train.

Doors opened.

No announcement.

No sound.

Just waiting.

For her.

Page Eleven: The Same Compartment

She stepped inside.

The same seats.

The same flickering lights.

The old man sat by the window.

The faceless woman.

The small boy.

This time—

They were all looking at her.

"You remember now," the old man said calmly.

Mousumi fell to her knees.

"I'm sorry… I was scared…"

The boy tilted his head.

"We were scared too."

Page Twelve: The Loop

The train started moving.

But this time, she didn't run.

She walked toward the boy.

"I won't leave," she whispered.

The train shook violently.

Smoke filled the air.

The derailment was happening again.

Time looping.

Five years collapsing into one moment.

Page Thirteen: The Choice

The emergency door rattled open.

Just like before.

She could escape.

Again.

The boy's small hand reached toward her.

"Didi…"

Tears blurred her vision.

She grabbed his hand.

Page Fourteen: The Crash

Metal screamed.

Glass shattered.

Darkness swallowed everything.

Page Fifteen: Morning News

The next morning, commuters gathered around a television screen.

"Unidentified Woman Found Dead Inside Metro Tunnel Late at Night."

No one knew how she entered.

No trains were scheduled.

No CCTV footage showed her arrival.

Authorities were confused.

But one detail disturbed the station master—

There were small child-sized handprints on her clothes.

Page Sixteen: The Last Departure

That night, at 11:55 PM—

The last train departed again.

Inside the compartment sat—

An elderly man.

A small boy.

A faceless woman.

And now—

A young woman with tired eyes.

The doors closed.

Somewhere on the empty platform—

A new passenger stood frozen in fear.

And a soft whisper floated through the fog—

"Don't get down…"

The train moved forward.

Into the darkness.

Forever.
