Mages
They were quite popular even during his younger days. But like in the future, they were a wild dream for Koreans who who couldn't wield magic. There were several magical devices in the country thanks to the innovation of the government which ruby's father was part of.
"Oh right... He should be here"
Ruby runs in,accompanied by her dad who was quite young then. As they came into his room,he made sure to force a smile not to suspect anything.
"Oh Arthur, what's wrong?"
"Nothing much..."
Arthur turned and left the room and entered the dinning area to eat. While he ate,ruby walked in and sat on his lap, disrupting his meal.
"Oh ruby..."
"What's wrong now?"
"What's today's date? "
"Huh...um,5th July "
"Today is my angry day. "
"What... What's with these auspicious days you're having?"
"I'm done get off me "
Arthur drops her on the floor before walking away.
"Hey,you meanie..."
Thank goodness there's nothing wrong with you
Arthur walks to his room and enters his bath. While he soaked in the water,he remembered the date ruby had told him.
"Ah... Today is the day ruby falls unconscious after discovering magic."
What do I do, what do I do?
Arthur reasoned for a while in the tub till he heard a knock at his door.
" Young Master..."
"Oh...maid Becky "
He walked out of the bathroom and stood in front of her as she dried him up. While he dressed, ruby barges him
"Hey, you idiot... How many times did I warn you?"
"Shut up you meanie..."
"Huh?"
Arthur chases her around the room until they got tired. Ruby laid on his bed while Arthur went outside to stroll. Before he exited, she raised a question
I thought I won't have to hear this again.
"I hope you are happy art..."
"Y-yeah"
He walked out immediately and went to the garden.
So far it has played out exactly as my first life... It's time for her to obtain magic... Now that I think about it,
Arthur tripped on the gardeners fork and hit his head just as ruby looked out of the window
She obtained magic to protect me
"Arthur..."
She turned and ran, leaving behind her father who was with her at that time. She ran straight to the garden to check on him. Thanks to his previous body's durability, the injury wasn't one that would kill him but thanks to that, the plot went as planned.
Ruby got there and bent down beside him. She tried to wake him but there was no reaction. Tears began to fall from her eyes as she struggled to keep her composure.
She held her hands above him and tried to wake him up but no response. Her dad walked to the garden and carried him into the house and sent some doctors to check on him.
Ruby stayed by his side to watch him until the doctors were done. After they left,she laid beside him and caressed his hair. Suddenly, green light glowed on her hands and Arthur's injuries healed. When he realized that she had awakened,he sat up and looked at her.
"Hey... Ruby,what was that?"
"Dunno... don't bother me like that again."
She laid on the bed comfortably and yawned. By now,she had not realized that she was an awakened mage. To be precise,she never did because she entered comma right on the position she's in and didn't wake up.
"Hey Arthur,I'm sleepy so I'll rest here for a while okay?"
"Y-yeah... You won't forget me no matter what right?"
"What sort of question is that?,of course I won't"
Arthur sighed
"Will you wait for me?"
"What's with you today...just let me sleep"
"Answer me..."
"I will,no matter where you go... Now come here "
Arthur laid beside her,as she cuddled him while she got into sleeping position. Seconds later she fell asleep
"Hmmm..."
Arthur waited for about two minutes while trying to compose himself. After getting out of the bed,he sat on a chair in his room and arranged his memories
"So in this span of time,I didn't notice anything unusual... Or wait,what if she didn't sleep immediately but got—"
Arthur heard a bang on his window and hid. A minute later,a person wearing an all black suit jumped in and went straight to ruby's body Arthur threw a blade he had in his room to the person but it dodged, while countering with and attack if it's own. With no way to defend against it, he crashed into his wall, sustaining an injury and knocked unconscious. When he woke up, the person was gone.
Arthur sat up on and rested his back on the wall before checking his surroundings. He glanced at Ruby but she didn't have any injuries to account for. While he rested,he made up his mind.
"I know for a fact that the person that attacked us is a girl. But whether or not she is the cause of her aliment is still a mystery."
He heard footsteps approaching his room and crawled into his bed. Luckily,there was nothing scattered inside the room so when the guards came inside,they didn't see anything unusual
The next day, Arthur woke up first and went to the training center where tech knights usually train
Unlike regular knights,tech knights were essentially soldiers who after finishing military service, join a division and train to use technology in their battles. Thanks to that, they're able to fight almost on equal terms with magic knights
Some of the trainers were quite uncomfortable seeing that their young Master was sitting down in silence watching them from a corner. Since no one had the guts to ask him,they continued their session.
The sun kicked in, bathing Arthur in light as he was sitting in a dark corner. Just as he stood up to go,a young man approached him.
"Young master,do you wish to learn the sword?"
