Chapter 3 - Chapter 3. Away We Go

INT. UNDERGROUND HALLWAY – NIGHT

The group moves cautiously, weapons raised. Water splashes underfoot. Mist curls along the jagged walls.

VINCENT

Keep your eyes open. Stay in pairs.

MIKEY

(stopping)

I don't know about you guys, but I've never been in a dungeon that feels alive.

CARLA

It's alive because it wants you dead.

Dima's men grunt, keeping pace behind Vincent.

Suddenly, the ground shakes slightly. A low rumble echoes.

DIMA

(in Russian, subtitled)

It's not a quake. Something's moving.

INT. CROSSROAD CHAMBER – NIGHT

They reach a junction. Three tunnels lead in different directions. Symbols on the walls pulse faintly, the red glow waxing and waning.

CARLA

The sigils… they're pointing somewhere.

She traces them with her flashlight. It leads toward the middle tunnel, which seems narrower and darker than the rest.

VINCENT

Middle it is. Stay tight.

Mikey fumbles with his gun.

MIKEY

Tight. Sure. Tight like the noose on my neck?

DIMA

Stop talking. Move.

INT. NARROW TUNNEL – CONTINUOUS

The corridor twists unnaturally. The walls appear to breathe, expanding and contracting. The air grows thicker.

CARLA

(whispering)

This place… it reacts to us.

Suddenly, a loud, wet screech echoes. A massive shadow darts along the ceiling.

MIKEY

I hate this place. I hate this place!

From above, a multi-limbed, spider-like creature drops down — clawed arms snapping toward the group.

VINCENT

Form up! Don't let it separate us!

INTENSE COMBAT – NIGHT

Gunfire lights up the tunnel. Bullets hit the creature, but its thick, chitinous skin barely dents.

CARLA

Shoot the joints! Aim for the joints!

Mikey sprays wildly. One of Dima's men is swiped away, screaming. Vincent shoves Mikey aside just in time.

VINCENT

Mikey! Cover the flank!

The creature leaps at Carla — she ducks, rolls, fires point-blank. It shrieks and scuttles back, wounded but alive.

DIMA

(admiringly)

Not bad.

They realize that coordinated effort is the only way to survive.

AFTERMATH – TUNNEL CORRIDOR

The creature retreats into darkness. The group catches their breath, bruised and soaked.

VINCENT

No more lone heroics. We survive as one unit or not at all.

MIKEY

(half-joking, terrified)

Great. I like everyone equally now.

DIMA

Reluctantly.

Carla examines the walls.

CARLA

The sigils… they move with the monsters. If we follow them, we might find a way out… or straight into another trap.

VINCENT

Then we follow. Carefully.

INT. CRYSTAL-LIT CHAMBER – NIGHT

They enter a massive chamber. stalactites drip black water, and glowing crystals illuminate ancient glyphs on the floor.

At the center: a pulsing red portal, swirling with energy. The group freezes.

MIKEY

Portal. Great. Because that's normal.

CARLA

It's a gateway. To where, I don't know. But it's active.

VINCENT

We don't go near it. We observe.

Suddenly, faint whispers echo — unintelligible, seductive. The group instinctively huddles together.

DIMA

Whispers? In my experience, whispers mean death.

CLOSE ON – RED PORTAL

The portal shimmers, revealing glimpses of otherworldly landscapes, monsters hunting, twisted corridors — glimpses of the dungeon's deeper layers.

CARLA

(terrified)

We're not alone. Others have been trapped here… and they didn't make it.

Vincent studies the portal, his jaw tight.

VINCENT

Then we learn fast. Or we die here too.

EXTREME CLOSE-UP – MIKEY

He swallows hard, voice shaking.

MIKEY

I didn't sign up for this…

VINCENT

No one signs up for this. You survive anyway.

They take another step forward — together, the first time fully united against the dungeon.

INT. TUNNEL – NIGHT

The camera pulls back. The corridor stretches endlessly, walls pulsating. Behind the group, a shadow moves just out of sight, observing, calculating.

The dungeon lives. And it has just begun to hunt.

FADE OUT.
