Rain drops everywhere in the forest. Cats are getting wet all around. Some are shake it off from their fur and head back their dens. Other play in the rain. Tiny kittens pouches on the puddles from the rain on the ground. They see it as a threat to their clan.
"We be the best hunters in the clan. Y'all watch. You see, I'll become the greatest hunter in the forest," light brown kitten said proudly, his tail held high.
The other kittens saw him bragging about being the greatest hunter. They all rolled their eyes at the light brown kitten. It was as if they wanted to see if he would actually become the greatest hunter in the forest.
"There goes Bear bragging about being the greatest hunter in the forest. Why don't you teach your apprentice not everything is about pride?" Silver Wolf hissed into Bear's mentor's ear.
"Aw, let Bear be himself. It's better to have energetic kitten than not. He's very young and proud. He wants to learn about everything there is to life," Bolt Thunder replied with a smile on his face. "It's best we let Bear be Bear and not change who is he to become in the future," he added.
"You always praises him, Bolt Thunder. Not once you ever scold him," Silver Wolf muttered to herself angrily and stalked away from them back into her den, unhappy with the conversation she'd just had with Bolt Thunder.
Bolt Thunder look down at his apprentice. "Don't mind Silver Wolf," he said in a soft tone. "She's just jealous you're my apprentice and the best in the clan," Bolt Thunder added.
Bear's eyes widened as he was happy to have Bolt Thunder as his mentor. Frost formed around his paws. He felt so excited he wanted to use his powers with him. He aimed to learn to control and use them for the clan's goodness.
"I want to be the best hunter with good powers," Bear said to his mentor.
