Chapter 6 - Chapter Six: Fighting (Part 1)

Jin Bao looked back; the one speaking was indeed Mei Lele. If he hadn't heard her voice clearly just now, and if she weren't the only one standing behind them, he would have truly doubted if someone else was impersonating her voice.

He hadn't expected that this seemingly cold girl would actually say so much in one breath.

"Please move aside."

The way the two were blocking the path made Mei Lele frown, and she couldn't help but speak again.

Only then did Jin Bao and Balu hurriedly walk inside and find a spot with better lighting.

The teaching teacher briefly explained the key points of guiding spirit power and highlighted a few areas.

First, concentrate your mind; stray thoughts will only reduce the efficiency of your Cultivation.

Second, if you feel tired, stop your Cultivation. These children are still growing, and over-consuming mental force will only affect development.

Third, concentrating your mind is not complete relaxation, and it's certainly not sleeping!

Looking at the Pointer in the teacher's hand, combined with what Balu had told him, he knew this teacher really dared to hit people.

Most importantly, that Pointer was her Spirit; it was particularly painful when it hit someone, yet it left no marks.

Clearly, none of the students were Cultivating for the first time. After the teacher finished explaining the key points, they quickly entered a state of Cultivation.

With no distractions and under the influence of the indoor incense, Jin Bao soon entered a state of immersion.

This time, he felt his spirit power moving slightly faster than yesterday as it circulated.

He didn't open his eyes until he felt a shaking sensation.

What he saw was Balu's somewhat cute face; this guy had summoned his Spirit again!

"What is it? I haven't finished my Cultivation yet!" Jin Bao frowned.

Balu said, "Class is already over, but were you really Cultivating and not sleeping?" He blinked his eyes.

Jin Bao really wished he were a girl right now; after all, such an expression was truly unsuitable for him. Or rather, after seeing what he looked like when his Spirit was deactivated, Jin Bao would always think of his normal appearance making that expression whenever he saw Balu in this state.

It was truly a bit jarring.

"Of course I was Cultivating. Look, isn't she the same?" Jin Bao said, pointing at Mei Lele, who had just stood up.

"Alright! You guys have such good talent. I used to be the last one to leave, but now with the two of you, I finally have some company!" Balu said with a smile.

Because he previously had the highest Innate Spirit Power, his normal Cultivation would last until very close to the end of class, so the teacher arranged for him to do the final door-locking. Some of the other students were jealous of his talent, while others felt he was showing off too much, so they naturally ostracized him.

"So you can leave early after finishing your Cultivation!" Jin Bao said, stretching.

"Actually, after the first hour, the teacher doesn't care anymore. Whether you sleep or leave directly, it's all fine. Most of them just don't want to Cultivate here, so they leave as soon as the time is up," Balu said.

"Why wouldn't they Cultivate? Isn't it good to improve your strength?" Jin Bao couldn't understand. Did they think that in the future, without enough strength, they could solve everything relying solely on their status or money?

Balu stuck out his tongue. "Who knows! Maybe they think it's embarrassing to actually Cultivate here until school is dismissed!"

The three of them left the Cultivation room. Balu skillfully locked the door, and they walked all the way to the entrance of the teaching building.

"Well then, see you tomorrow!" After saying that, Balu walked in another direction toward the Dormitory Building.

Although this was a Noble Academy, there was still a distinction between boarding and non-boarding students. Jin Bao's father couldn't bear to have him live at school alone, feeling that since their home wasn't far from the school, there was no need for him to board.

Jin Bao turned to look at Mei Lele, wanting to say goodbye to her, but found she had already left. She wasn't headed for the main gate, but rather the Library.

It seemed she didn't plan on leaving just yet.

However, if he hadn't promised his father that he would return home on time today, he would have planned to visit the Library as well.

After all, no one ever feels that they have too much knowledge, right?

Arriving at the school's main gate, a carriage bearing their Family's Chamber of Commerce symbol was already waiting. Although his father didn't come in person, he had sent the Butler.

After getting into the carriage, Jin Bao continued his state of Cultivation.

This was thanks to the carriage being fairly good and the road from the academy to home being quite smooth. However, he still only managed to find the state of Cultivation without truly entering deep Cultivation.

"Son, today at school, how was it? Did you make any friends?" As soon as he entered the house, Jin Bao saw his father.

After briefly explaining what happened at school, Jin Ge breathed a sigh of relief. "That's fine; making friends is something that takes time. Besides, you have Innate Level 8 spirit power; you'll reach Level 9 in less than a month, and Level 10 a month after that. Once you obtain your spirit ring, those classmates of yours will take the initiative to become friends with you."

Jin Ge dealt with those nobles and wealthy people, so he naturally knew what their personalities were like. Only when you showed that you were powerful and had strength would they flock to your side.

For the next two weeks, Jin Bao went to school, Cultivated, and went home according to the routine.

Having lost the initial sense of novelty, the thing he looked forward to most every day now was Cultivation time, because only when he could clearly feel his spirit power progressing did he feel more motivated.

However, this afternoon wasn't a Cultivation class, but a rare PE Class.

It was called a PE Class, but for the students of the noble class, it was just a free period where they were dismissed after running a couple of laps. It was held every Friday afternoon. Normally, the students of the noble class would head straight home, but today was different.

"A fight?" Jin Bao looked at Balu with a confused expression.

"We... are going to fight?"

Jin Bao thought to himself,'Shouldn't nobles disdain fighting with children from ordinary families?'

"Of course we won't be the ones doing it personally. It's the ordinary Spirit Masters who want to curry favor with those few people who will be fighting. Right now, none of them have obtained their First Spirit Ring, so they can only rely on their Spirits and physical strength to fight. Only then can they pique the interest of those few individuals," Balu said, taking a sip of water.

"What's the reason? What's the cause? It couldn't be that they just want to watch for fun, right?" Jin Bao glanced at the few noble children sitting over there.

They were all children from Viscount-level families. Although they weren't from the direct line of descent, their status here was still at the most noble level.

"Of course not. If they just wanted to watch for fun, why not find those Commoner Spirit Masters? Those few people are clearly trying to Cultivate their own followers, using this to showcase their discernment. In fact, those fighters were won over by them long ago," Balu said.

"How about it? Do you want to see what a Spirit Master battle looks like?"
