Chapter 1 - The Day We Met Again

Lee Min hee POV:

"Ha-jun… wake up."

The small boy hid under the blanket.

"No kindergarten…"

Min-hee sat beside him and smiled.

"You said you want to show teacher your dinosaur today."

One eye slowly opened.

"…Teacher see?"

"Yes."

He sat up immediately.

Ha-jun was only three years old, but he tried to act brave every morning — until it was time for her to leave.

She dressed him carefully.

Tiny socks. Tiny shoes. Oversized backpack.

Outside the kindergarten gate

He held her finger tightly.

Other children ran inside, but he stayed.

He always needed one more hug.

She knelt down.

"Be strong today."

He nodded seriously… then whispered,

"Come fast."

"I will."

The teacher carried him inside.

He kept looking back until the door closed.

Min-hee stayed there longer than the other parents.

Then she finally turned around.

Today was important.

Very important.

Interview at KQ Group Headquarters.

She took a deep breath and walked inside.

"The final interview is with the CEO," the receptionist said.

Her heart dropped.

CEO?

She walked to the office door.

Knock.

"Come in."

She opened it.

A man stood near the window.

He turned.

Her world stopped.

Four years ago.

The man from that night.

The father of her child.

But his eyes…

Showed no recognition.

He didn't remember her.

At all.

"Name?" he asked calmly.

"…Lee Min-hee."

He studied her resume.

"You have work gaps."

"I had personal reasons."

A short silence passed.

Then he closed the file.

"You may start next week."

Her eyes widened.

Just like that?

She bowed quickly and left the room.

The moment the door closed, her hands trembled.

Because the man who unknowingly changed her life…

was now her boss.
