We all froze. Silence. Everything went quiet. People eye moved to one another, confused. Me and Kellan l gaze shifted from each other and moved to the DJ who was looking confused himself. I frowned. “What happened?” Kellan shrugged. “Maybe the DJ stopped it.” Then something shiny started falling from the ceiling . glitter. We stared at each other as the glitters rained from the rafters. Thousands of silver flecks catching every strobe flash, sticking to skin and hair and the sudden stillness. Everyone cheered at first, thinking it was part of the show. But I felt…. This feeling was not good. I looked up. “Wow… this is… ” But the lights began to flicker. And a dark, creepy music crept in. The crowd stopped cheering. People looked at each other, whispering. Where was this song coming from. I knew the song that was playing. It was Royalty by Egzod, Maestro Chives, and Neoni. The same song I used to blast in my room with the windows down. Now it sounded wrong, like nails on bone. I flinched. Kellan’s hands shot out and closed around my wrist. Something lay at out feet- glitter-dust , unmoving. Long dark hair fanned across the wood. A thin red line circled her throat. I gasped. “What was that?” Someone screamed. John pushed through the crowd, shouting, “Cierra! Cierra!” He dropped to his knees beside her. “No, no, no! Baby, wake up!” My hands covered my mouth. “Oh my God… it’s Cierra.” Ava thought everything will go according to plan. Date Kellan, use him and finally get her life back. But she spoke to soon.
