A sudden, annoying sound rang in Jin's head. At first, it was normal, then it grew louder and louder than the last one. It was like Jin was trapped in a steel drum, and someone was beating that drum non-stop, to the point where it woke him up. He opened his eyes.
The headache was still there, but the sound seemed to be vanishing little by little, clearing his head. The first thing Jin saw when he opened his eyes was his bare feet, as if he was sitting leaned against something, but what?
Jin moved his head as he realised he was sitting under the tree he had been trying to run towards before he lost consciousness, but how did he get there? That question didn't stay long in his mind; it was replaced with something else.
His wounds were gone; there were none. Not even a scratch on his body, nor did he feel the pain he had been feeling before, as if they had healed on their own. He got up and looked around with his silver eyes, taking in the details of the forest, but there was no sign of any living being.
The atmosphere was calm on that planet; the sun was shining bright, and the air was reaching every end of the planet it could. It was like he'd been unconscious for days or maybe weeks?
"Huff..."
Jin let out a sigh of relief as he sat back and leaned against the tree. Still, these thoughts were running through his mind, waiting for answers. Who was that person? How did he know that name? Not to say on this unknown planet it would be a little understandable on Earth, but here?
"Not a chance; it must be an illusion."
Jin pushed that thought away, thinking it must be the effect of his blood loss and injuries, but now it still left one question: how did his wounds heal? And how did he get here? He had been in mud at least fifty meters away from this tree, and there was no sign of his body unconsciously crawling here. The ground seemed to be fine, with no trace or mark of anything, which must have been rain-cleaned.
'My head will explode with this overthinking; let's just calm down for a bit.'
Jin thought, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. He opened his eyes after a while, and his mind had more questions now.
"Now was this here from the beginning? Or did it get here just now? It does look like it's been here for a while, but who leaves it here?"
He talked to himself as he looked at the things in front of him just a few feet away. There was a set of clean clothes, all black, and the fabric seemed to look strong and silky.
Then there was a plastic box, yellow and white; it was like a lunch box. Beside it was a sword, yep, a sword. It was like a katana, at least the shape of its handle and scabbard. It was a little different shape; it was square-shaped. Each edge was silver, but it didn't shine nor was it reflecting anything.
Then it caught his eye: there was a paper folded and placed under the sword. Jin didn't think much and grabbed that paper. Just as he opened it, he began to read.
[Looks like you're up. Let me tell you one thing first. Knowing you, you must be overthinking, trying to find the answer to every question, so just think I helped, like healed your wounds etc., and use that sword wisely. It will come in handy. I'm just letting you borrow it, so I'll take it back later. Eat something; I bought it in that lunch box and changed into these clothes. They're expensive and tough, so they won't get torn easily. That's all, and now don't start thinking who am I, just think of me as a traveller.]
Just as Jin finished reading it, he didn't waste any time thinking about anything nor trying to find who this person might be. It was clear that the person knew Jin, but right now, Jin's attention was on that yellow and white lunch box. Hunger had taken over him. It wasn't that he didn't want to know about that person's identity, but right now all he could think about was having food!!!
"Hooop!!"
Jin let out a satisfied burp after finishing the food inside that lunch box. He leaned back on the tree, stretching his arms, finally having a good peaceful moment with a full stomach.
'I should try these clothes.'
He thought as he looked down on his torn, overused clothes. He got up and changed his clothes, now feeling more comfortable and warm in that set of clothes. There was a pair of dark blue shoes beneath these clothes, more like sports shoes, but they were thin, to the point he didn't realise there's a pair of shoes beneath these clothes.
"Whoever you are, I'm grateful for your help. I'll pay you back if I can in future when we meet again!"
He shouted up with a bright smile on his face, jumping in place as if checking the flexibility of his shoes and his clothes.
'Now where should I go before that atmosphere changed again?'
Jin wondered. Now that was the real problem he had forgotten about for a short time, but now he had his fill, his wounds were healed, he had a sword and new clothes along with shoes. There was nothing left aside from finding a way back to Earth, but then what?
Was he gonna work fourteen hours again? Save money for food and clothes and paying the rent of that small apartment? Even though his experience on this planet was not that good, still now he was in better condition than he had been on Earth.
He grabbed the sword and stuck it on the right side for now. He planned to explore this place before thinking about anything. Just as he took a step forward.
Tuding!
That same noise that had woken him from sleep rang again in his head.
