"Most of the cities have been restored thanks to Hunter Thalia. The loss of life, however, was considerable. We estimate 10 million lives were lost, most of them were hunters fighting on the frontlines." Jinchul said gravely.
Adam sighed as he looked out the window. "10 million brave soldiers gave their lives to protect 7 billion more. We must honor their heroic sacrifice." Adam said with determination.
He continued, "what about our allies?"
Jinchul replied, "the Monarchs and their armies suffered far fewer casualties than we did. As for the Rulers and Celestial armies, the Celestial army suffered the most casualties as they were caught in the thickest fighting."
He paused for a second while he looked down at his notes.
He continued, "according to Suho, the World Tree has grown stronger and bigger than ever. The Tree is replenishing the lost soldiers even as we speak…those Celestial that lost their lives are now being reborn as members of our universe."
Adam smiled slightly at the idea. He said, "our fates are forever intertwined now, it seems."
"What about the Empire. What intel do have on their movements?" Adam asked.
"Hunters Thalia and Suho Sung are currently on a scouting mission and on their way to the Void now…we should know more shortly." Jinchul replied.
[VOID]
"My liege, our scouts have returned." A shadow soldier reported.
Another soldier said, "my King your son and Lady Thalia are approaching."
"Dad, what happened here?" Suho asked puzzled.
Jinwoo looked intently at Thalia and Suho…relieved to see them both in good health.
"Thalia, I am deeply sorry about your father. I'm glad you were able to see him one last time and be there by his side in his final moments." Jinwoo face grew serious as he remembered the altered timeline when he himself said goodbye to his own father.
"Thank you." Thalia said softly.
"The Empire's attack was a smoke screen. They never intended to conquer earth…at least not right now. Ra sacrificed 10% of his army including 2 Itarim Generals in order to reposition himself and gain access to many other universes beyond here." Jinwoo explained as he looked out into the Void.
He added, "This battle proves that Ra is both patient and cunning. He will return later…with a larger army…when he is ready."
"What should we do?" Thalia asked
Jinwoo looked at his son and Thalia, eyes focused and determined.
He said, "simple. We level up."
