Chapter 224 - Chapter 224 The Four Heroes

Loras Tyrell said, "It doesn't matter to me which of the three lords goes first, come on!" He spurred his horse to the other end and took his lance.

Princeton Greenfield stepped forward first and took the spear.

Of the three, Princeton Greenfield was the shortest, but the most impatient.

Manden Moore remained unmoved, showing no intention of challenging him. Maryn Trant, on the other hand, wanted to fight, but he held his temper. Although the Knight of Flowers was only sixteen years old, he had previously defeated the arrogant Jaime Lannister in a duel, knocking him off his horse. Maryn Trant knew he was no match for Jaime.

Although Marin Trant was not afraid of Loretta, he did not want to be the first to fight.

Let that idiot Princeton stall for a while.

At a command, the two horses charged, and Princeton roared, brandishing his lance and brandishing his claws. There was a strict requirement for becoming a Kingsguard: exceptional martial skill. However, Robert's generation of Kingsguard had evolved into prioritizing loyalty over martial prowess. As the closest guards to the royal family, they knew many private matters, and the many scandals that the royal family couldn't reveal to outsiders demanded that the Kingsguard prioritize secrecy over martial skill.

This resulted in the current Kingsguard being comprised of seven men, with the exception of Jaime and Barristan, the other five being of average skill. They are nowhere near the level of the Mad King's Kingsguard. The Mad King's Kingsguard included Jaime's idol, the Sword of the Morning, and the young and vigorous Barristan, whose martial arts skills were not at all superior to his brothers.

Princeton Greenfield swung his lance wildly, moving it left and right, up and down, feinting and intimidating. The Knight of Flowers ignored him completely, protecting himself with his shield, and took several of Princeton's spear thrusts head-on. The two horses crossed paths, and the two switched sides.

The two switched locations and fought again. This time, Preston was more confident and launched another attack. The Knight of Flowers smiled slightly and thrust out his spear as well. The two clashed, but the Knight of Flowers suddenly increased the speed of his spear. He tilted the spear and gently deflected the opponent's spear, then thrust forward, hitting Preston squarely in the chest. The spearhead shattered, and Preston flew backward, crashing to the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.

Loras Tyrell won easily, circling the arena to receive the cheers of the crowd. His warhorse stopped before Sansa's platform, and he leaned down, holding a single red rose in his hand. He had tossed white roses to the crowd, but gave Sansa a red one: "My dear lady, even the greatest victory cannot compare to half your beauty." Sansa shyly accepted the flower, completely captivated by his dashing figure. His hair was a cascade of languid brown curls, and his eyes were like molten gold. Sansa inhaled the sweet fragrance of the rose deeply, holding it tightly even as Ser Loras rode away.

Loras Tyrell switched to his lance and assumed his fighting stance, but neither of the two Kingsguard guards stepped forward to meet him. Manden Moore remained expressionless, his thoughts unreadable; he stood motionless. Maryn Trant, witnessing Loras's spear skills, felt fear and wanted to save his attack for last, hoping to lessen the Knight of Flowers' momentum and prevent him from maintaining his stamina. But Manden Moore paid no heed to Maryn Trant's thoughts; he remained unmoved, expressionless, and motionless.

That's really awkward!

Marin Tran had no choice but to go out, silently cursing Manden Moore's entire family hundreds of times in his heart.

Marin Trant was very tall and his martial skills surpassed those of Princeton. He drew his lance, roared to boost his morale, and the two spurred their horses to charge. The Knight of Flowers' languid smile vanished, his eyes sharpening, and his lance pointed upwards. As the two horses drew near, the Knight of Flowers thrust his lance forward, and Marin Trant roared, also thrusting his lance forward.

Both sides moved with incredible speed. Marin Trant, knowing he was outmatched, adopted a strategy of mutual destruction. He would be struck by Lotte, but Lotte would also be struck by him. His strength was overwhelming; when he fell from his horse, Lotte would inevitably fall as well.

The two guns crossed, each aimed straight for the other's chest.

Its broad chest makes it easy to be hit.

Bang!

With a loud bang, the gun barrel shattered, and wood chips flew everywhere.

Marin Tran was struck squarely by the Knight of Flowers' spear and sent flying backward. However, when Marin Tran thrust his spear at the Knight of Flowers, the Knight of Flowers twisted and dodged, the spearhead grazing the armor, a close call indeed.

Marin Trant suffered a crushing defeat, being knocked off his horse by Loras Tyrell in the very first round. In truth, he was far superior to Princeton in martial arts. Princeton could have fought for two more rounds, while Trant couldn't even last one.

Marin Trant scrambled to his feet, slammed his helmet to the ground, and glared angrily at Loki. Loki, however, laughed heartily, bowed gracefully in greeting, and then raised his hand to welcome the cheers of the crowd.

Next, Manden Moore also met his end, being knocked off his horse. However, after his defeat, he remounted, remaining unmoved and composed. He hailed from the Vale, his family being vassals of former Prime Minister Jon Arryn.

Of the seven Kingsguard, Jaime was most wary of Manden Moore, because you never knew what he was thinking. This man was of average martial skill, rarely showing his emotions, but was inherently cruel; he would ambush Tyrion Lannister during the Battle of Blackwater, stabbing Tyrion in the face.

The Knight of Flowers' consecutive victories over three Kingsguard members protecting the royal family greatly enhanced his reputation and brought him to the pinnacle of personal honor. Even the least skilled Kingsguard were undoubtedly more skilled than the average knight. The Kingsguard held the highest rank among knights; no knight was more prestigious than them.

The Knight of Flowers, despite his young age, dared to challenge the King's Royal Guard, a display of courage and pride that is truly admirable!

His demeanor was graceful and impeccable. He rode his horse slowly around the arena, and whenever he saw a beautiful girl, he would pluck a white rose from the red carpet and toss it to her, eliciting cheers and scrambles from the crowd. The entire arena was filled with a joyful atmosphere because of him.

Flora Knights have won three consecutive matches and advanced!

He was the most outstanding person in the preliminary round, surpassing even the Mountain.

After all the matches were completed, the Cavaliers, who had won three consecutive matches, advanced to the second round.

The semifinals were even more brutal than the preliminary rounds, with each victorious knight being a formidable opponent. The Kingslayer continued his unstoppable momentum, first defeating the wandering prince from the Summer Isles, whose skin was as black as night, and then defeating Count Jason Mellist from the Riverlands, thus advancing smoothly to the finals.

The Hound continued his usual tough style. When he faced Ser Renly, he attacked fiercely and ruthlessly. After dodging Renly's spear, he counterattacked and struck Renly hard in the chest, as if he had a deep-seated hatred for Renly.

Renly was thrown backward from his horse, his head hitting the ground with a loud thud, causing the entire audience to gasp. King Robert was startled and stood up, his face pale. Fortunately, Duke Renly then stood up with a smile; the only thing that had been damaged was one of the golden stag antlers on his helmet, one of which had been broken off by his impact.

When Lord Renly rose to his feet, the entire arena erupted in cheers, for he was always beloved by the populace. He bowed gracefully and offered the broken, pure gold antler to the Hound. The Hound snorted, tossed the broken antler into the stands, and walked off indifferently. The people immediately began fighting tooth and nail for the gold, chaos ensued, fists and insults flew, men and women scrambled for it, and finally Lord Renly had to step into the crowd and soothe them with gentle words to restore order.

Next up was The Mountain. He seemed impatient, delivering a single, decisive blow to send his opponents flying and advance to the finals.

The final battle was between Loras Tyrell and Robert Royce of the Vale. Both were young heroes with superb spear skills. They fought back and forth for several rounds. Finally, Loras Tyrell rose up bravely, shouted, and pierced Robert's shield with his spear. With another spear, he knocked Robert off his saddle. Even the thousand-year-old spell passed down in the Bronze Yorn family could not protect Robert Royce. Robert lay on the ground groaning in pain, while Loras Tyrell circled the arena to receive cheers.

Finally, all the matches ended, and four players advanced to the final: Jaime Lannister the Kingslayer; Sandor Clegane the Hound; Gregor Clegane the Mountain; and Loras Tyrell the Knight of Flowers.

By then the moon had long since risen, and the people were tired. The king announced the end of the day's competition, stating that the final spear duel would be held early the next morning, followed by the team duels. The crowd gradually dispersed, while the courtiers and nobles went to the riverbank for a meal.

Six enormous yaks were slowly turning on roasting forks, having been roasted for hours. Kitchen staff busied themselves spreading butter and herbs until the meat was fragrant, crispy, and glistening with oil. Rows of large dining tables were already set up, with braziers, torches, and large candles all lit, illuminating the beets, strawberries, and freshly baked bread on the tables.

The songs and piano music of the wandering singers began, the stage was quickly set up, and clowns and magicians took the stage one after another.

Jars of fine wine were brought out one by one and placed on the dining table in a continuous stream.

The party nightlife has officially begun!
