Jungkook~
The chaos finally settles once professors handle the dragon and the snake. I swear my heart is still somewhere on the ballroom floor, beating faster than a snitch on sugar.
Jimin has Y/N in his arms as he practically parades her to the nursery wing. He looks like a knight rescuing a princess, except I'm right there, gripping her wrist like I'm afraid she'll vanish. Honestly, I probably look more like an overprotective parent dragging their kid away from trouble.
Madam Pomfrey swoops over the second we walk in, wand already glowing. She frowns at the dirt and scratches. "Minor injuries."
"Minor?!" I bark. "She was nearly flattened! Check her again."
Y/N groans. "Oh my God, Jungkook. I'm not a smashed pumpkin."
"Yet," I mutter. "You could've been. Full inspection, please."
Madam Pomfrey gives me a long suffering look, the kind only adults who deal with idiots daily can pull off, then waves her wand up and down Y/N. No broken bones, no curses, nothing internal. She looks back at me like, See? Happy now?
I cross my arms. "Do it again."
Y/N swats my arm. "Do you want her to find brain damage on you instead?"
That gets Jimin laughing. He squeezes her hand, leaning close. "He's just jealous because I carried you here. Don't worry, Kookie. Next time a giant snake tries to eat her, I'll let you do the honors."
My head snaps up. "Next time?!"
Y/N rolls her eyes so hard I swear they'll roll across the floor. "No next time. Ever."
By the time we leave, Jimin clings to her like a koala, hugging her for what feels like half a century. "I'll be back in your room first thing in the morning, angel. Don't even think of ditching me."
She pats his back. "Yes, sir."
I stand behind them, scowling. "You do know she needs oxygen to survive, right?"
He smirks but finally lets go.
When Y/N and I get back to the dorm, she's yawning, dragging her feet. "I'm fine, you know," she mumbles for the hundredth time.
"Sure you are." I pull her blanket up once she's in bed. "I'll just sit here and stare at you breathing all night."
She squints at me. "Creepy. Very creepy."
I don't even care. Creepy is better than losing her.

The next morning, the Great Hall looks like nothing happened—except for the giant broken window still patched with magic tape. Students chatter, pancakes steam, pumpkin juice sparkles.
Dumbledore gives a calm speech, explaining the dark magic attack and thanking brave students (cue everyone staring at us). My ears burn and I suddenly find my plate of eggs extremely fascinating. Y/N slouches down, hiding her face in her goblet, and Jimin beams like he just got knighted.
When we finally dig into breakfast, Jimin piles croissants onto Y/N's plate. "Eat more. You need strength after your tragic princess moment."
"I wasn't a princess," she grumbles around a mouthful of toast.
"You literally screamed and got rescued," I deadpan.
"I did not scream!"
Jimin grins. "Oh, you did. I almost mistook it for a banshee."
Y/N smacks him with her napkin, and for the first time since the chaos, I laugh. Not a nervous, panicked laugh—an actual laugh. Because maybe things are finally going back to normal.
Well. Normal for Hogwarts anyway.
The Great Hall feels suspiciously normal for a place that had a demon dragon crashing through its windows less than twelve hours ago. Candles float. Kids laugh. Bacon sizzles. If I didn't still have dirt under my nails from digging Y/N out of that statue, I'd think last night was just a weird fever dream.
Y/N is wedged between me and Jimin, cheeks puffed like a hamster as she chews. I keep eyeing the scratches on her arm, like if I blink too long they'll suddenly multiply.
"Stop staring at me," she says with her mouth full.
"Stop almost dying," I shoot back.
Jimin chuckles, buttering a croissant. "He's right, angel. Try fainting in a normal place next time—like in front of me. I look more heroic carrying you."
Y/N stabs her fork into his croissant like she's considering murder. "I didn't faint. I ran from a literal snake."
"A snake that could eat a horse," I mutter.
"Exactly!" she points at me like I've just validated her entire existence.
Jimin grins. "Still sounds like fainting energy to me."
Y/N groans, smacking her forehead into her plate dramatically. "I hate both of you."
Taehyung and Lima plop down across from us, mid-laugh about something. Taehyung glances at Y/N's plate stacked high with food and smirks. "Rebuilding your strength, princess?"
Her head snaps up. "Not you too!"
Lima giggles. "Sorry, Y/N, but the whole school's calling you Snake Princess now."
Jimin gasps like Christmas came early. "That's perfect. Snake Princess! Should we get it embroidered on her robes?"
Y/N hurls a piece of toast at him. It bounces off his forehead and lands in his lap. He eats it without missing a beat.
By now, even I can't hold back my laugh. It slips out, loud and unguarded. Y/N turns her glare on me, betrayal in her eyes.
"Et tu, Jungkook?" she says like I've just stabbed her in the back.
I shrug, still chuckling. "Sorry. It's just... you did look kinda dramatic hiding under that statue. Like a damsel in distress in one of those cheesy storybooks."
She gasps. "I hate you most of all!"
I grin, nudging her shoulder with mine. "You'll live. Snake Princess."
She groans again, slumping against the table. Jimin pats her hair lovingly. Taehyung is howling. Lima's trying not to choke on her juice. And me? For the first time since last night, my chest doesn't feel so tight.
Because if she can groan and throw toast and threaten murder, then yeah—everything's really okay.
