Chapter 1 - Prologue

Once upon a time, in a universe far away, there was a realm named Aurelia. The land was filled with joy and merry, with food growing swiftly and plentiful and water continually flowing through the rivers. The realm was home to many, to kingdoms, forests, all living in joy.

But to protect this world required a sacrifice, so the Cosmos above gave the honor to three princesses:

Aludra, a kind princess, always caring for the ones she loved

Astra, loving and would protect anyone she cared for and

Arista, a firm but fair princess, wise with her power.

These three princesses were given the power to weave starlight into Aurelia, shielding it from whatever harm came its way.

They were called the Starlight Sisters.

They danced with merriness and protected with love, but each step was a burden, each stitch a prick to the heart. They embraced their role in protecting Aurelia, but couldn't help but ask themselves, "Why were we out of everyone in Aurelia chosen?"

They called to the cosmos with their cries. "Oh great Cosmos!" they cried, "Please tell us, why did you choose us out of all of Aurelia to be the Starlight Sisters? Because of how they adored us? Or was it for something else?"

The Cosmos came down to them with solemn faces. "You were not chosen for who adored you, my dear girls," they said, "But for what you showed others. You three were the fairest of them all, and that showed us why you should have been chosen."

"It was never about what it looked like here," they gestured at the Starlight Sisters' faces. "It was about what was here." They touched Aludra's chest. "You embodied values that we admired, so the citizens of Aurelia could also learn from you." The Cosmos smiled, and floated up, into the starry night.

From that night onward, the Starlight Sisters worked faithfully and with pride, having found reason and peace in their duties. And all was well in Aurelia alongside them.

Until one fateful day, the Shattering. Aurelia would never be the same ever again.

Estella, an exiled cosmo, ejected for her constant want to not nurture, but control the realms. She had the unique but dangerous power to sew a being's life force into whatever she wanted. Using this power she created an army of stars, able to do her bidding.

Using these she forced her way through the barrier the Starlight Sisters created, creating havoc among the Aurelians.

The Starlight Sisters were nowhere to be found during the attack.

Estella took most of the Aurelians, sewing their life force into her aurora, making them her slaves. The few that survived had to evade Estella and her slaves. Some hid among the ruins of the kingdoms, others casted basic protection runes, making a safe haven for their family among the clouds, the only happiness felt in this wasteland that once was Aurelia

All was thought to be lost...

But the Cosmos saw this, and sent a signal, a spark of hope. And it reached someone, someone who would be the hero that Aurelia needed.
