Synopsis
Elias, a skeptical man of science, inherits the decaying Blackwood Manor from a distant uncle. Ignoring local warnings that the house "breathes," he moves in, only to be disturbed by a rhythmic scratching and raspy whispers coming from within the walls.
Driven by a need to find the source, Elias tears away the wallpaper, uncovering a horrifying collection of old photographs where every subject's eyes have been violently scratched out. The house begins to warp reality, trapping him in a mirror-dimension of his own room. The story reaches a chilling climax as the "house" claims its latest prize, leaving Elias blind and hollowed, just like the portraits on the wall.
Core Themes
Isolation: The psychological toll of being alone in a vast, decaying space.
The Uncanny: Taking something familiar (a bedroom) and making it subtly "wrong" (the mirror room).
Inevitability: The feeling that once you enter the house, your fate is already sealed.
