Keifer's POV:
I was on my bed, with my eyes wide open, not because I couldn't sleep but because I can't, I developed insomnia 8 years ago. The day my world turned upside down. The day I let her go.
I saw the time, it was time to get ready and leave for my company. I quickly got up from the bed, leave to washroom to freshen up and get ready and I follow my same routine.
Before leaving the room, I turn back and look at a pictures that was hung in my room, it was pictures of my love, Jay. I slowly go near one and trace it with my hands and tear starts to fall from eyes, I quickly wipe them and start to leave the room.
I went downstairs to see David waiting for me in the dinning table, David is my best friend and my personal assistant, honestly they only person I can rely on both personally and professional, he's been with me through the whole journey, he knows everything that happened. I go down and join him.
David: " Did you sleep?" He asks
I give a guilty look and he know what I meant
David: " What are you going to do if you keep going like?"
Keifer: " I am fine, I will get used to it"
David: " Fine, are you kidding me, it has been 8 years and still you couldn't recover"
Keifer: " David please, I don't want to talk about it, can we please move on, tell me about my schedule"
David: " You have 2 meetings today but the Johns wanted to push their meeting but I refused because, then it will occupy your entire day without any break"
Keifer: " Confirm the meetings with Johns"
David: " Keifer, you will be exhausted"
Keifer: " Just do it"
After that we both left to our office, the company that was built on my own sweat and blood, the thing that keeps me going instead of becoming a lifeless corpse.
I entered my office and soon all the meeting started and by time everything got over I looked at my watch to check the time, it showed 1:03 AM. I was exhausted for sure but I couldn't sleep. David entered my cabin
David: " Would like to eat something?"
I look at I know he is not going to let go untill I say yes so I nod my head, after a few mins he bring in food and we start eating, but I am just eating for namesake, barely for surviving purpose, because I stopped living 8 years ago , when she left but also I don't have the luxury to stop living so I started surviving.
I return to my house, and retire to my room, I slouch and sit down on the floor with the photo frame of us and tears starts pouring from my eyes and I start speaking, "Jay, please come back to me, I know it is my fault but I need you" I hug the photo to myself.
JAY's POV:
Jay: "Can you please come and get me, they are trying to get me married to him "
the other voice: "Jay, listen I am busy right now, I will not be able to come"
Jay:" Please, understand I ran from my house, they are following me, if they get hold of me they will get me married"
the other voice: "Jay, I cannot do anything about that , honestly I don't have time and I cannot care about you right now, please don't involve me in this mess"
Jay:" Did you even Love me?"
the line went off.
I wake up again from the repeated nightmare but only in my case, the nightmare had already happened, I look at the time it was 4:05 AM and I very well know I am not going get sleep after this, so I get up from my bed and
leave to the balcony, it was still dark and silent, I stand there taking it all in and console myself saying, it has been 8 years and I should move on, but it keeps on haunting me.
I wipe my tears and move from there and start doing my house chores and after all that it was time to go to the office where I work.
I go to the office, and see Sara, my best friend and she quickly waves at me,
Sara: " Hey Ash, come sit" yes I have changed my name and whole identity because I wanted to escape everyone one from my past and Sara , I met her 8 years back after that terrible incident took place but she knew nothing about my past identity and background, she knows my name as Ash and I ran from my family because there was some problem between us, I did not wanted anyone to know my past or identity, I wanted to destroy them completely.
We both work together and sit next to each other and she is the only person, I was able to trust after everything happened to me.
After office, I went home not to rest but to work again, because it keeps my mind off from everything else, I have started baking as to take my mind off from everything, but then soon it turned into a business because Sara said and I quote, "It would illegal, if people don't get to taste something this good"
Honestly, she only started an online page for it and did everything else, I just do the baking.
