Chapter 1 - Raiders

The snowy moonlit forest is quiet, almost too quiet. A tall man wields his blood-stained claymore, standing still in the middle of the forest, anticipating. Bodies of raiders lay on the snow, having been either impaled or bludgeoned. He turns around in time. A hooded figure dual wielding daggers clashes with him.

They jump off his blade as they charge at him once more. He puts down his sword as he winds up his fist. He makes direct contact with the figure, shattering their nose. They stumble back as the seven foot figure charges at him.

The hooded figure freezes in shock for a moment. The man drives his fist into their chest, shattering ribs. The figure is lifted off the ground by the punch alone as the man grasps his leg and slams him onto the floor.

In a desperate attempt, the hooded figure attempts to form a ball of snow, yet it's pointless. The man impales them through the back.

He wipes the blood off his tan face. He leaves the scene as he wipes off his claymore with his black gloves.

As the moon slowly reaches it's peak, the man begins to set up a campfire in yet another open area away from where he had massacred the raiders.

He settles down as he adjusts his black coat. He places his sword back into his scabbard as he lies down on the ground near the fire as he closes his eyes.

His mind keeps him awake. He feels the sense that someone, no, something is watching him.

He sits up to make sure of his surroundings. He spots nothing until he senses something more North. He walks a few meters away from the open area, when the feeling of being watched amplifies.

He is then ambushed by a seven foot tall pale amalgamation. It had several arms and was comprised of several heads and arms. On it's back, it had swords and gold stored as if it was hoarding it.

It charges at him with it's central head yet the man moves and the beast misses. It catches a glimpse at his sword on the ground and grabs it with it's several hands to stab into it's back.

The man charges at it with blinding speeds as he strikes the central head and climbs onto it's back to retrieve his sword. The hands grab at him and tear him off right after he had retrieved his sword.

The creature tosses him away as begins to move faster than it had had just been moving. It rushes at him as he winds up a punch too slow as he is struck and stumbles back.

He charges at it's head as hands reach out to catch him. He cleaves through them and impales the head of the abomination. As it howls in pain, the man pulls his sword through it's back and pulls it out.

It collapses dead as it's body fades into nothingness.

"That was odd", Roman tells himself. He punches the air to check his reflexes.

"My speed is now normal. Bastard must've done something when it's hands grabbed me".
