Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Sea Quake

"Master! What is Chu Yan doing?" Levy asked. Chu Yan almost never showed his magic within the guild; it was the only magic the Master strictly prohibited. She had only heard of its terrifying power as a Super Magic but had never witnessed it.

Makarov shook his head. "Well, I'm not sure either, but looking at him, he's definitely up to no good."

"I have a bad feeling about this!" Lisanna said, clutching Happy.

"Aye—!" Happy agreed with Lisanna's assessment.

At that moment, they heard Chu Yan muttering to himself, "Hmm, at this level, it shouldn't kill anyone."

With that, Chu Yan suddenly threw his arms outward, slamming both fists into the air on either side of his body.

"——!"

Crack! Crack!! A sound like a mirror shattering echoed through the air as massive fissures appeared in the space surrounding his fists.

"That! Has the space itself been shattered?!" Levy, Lisanna, and Happy were all seeing Chu Yan truly make a move for the first time. The visual experience of a fist shattering the air was truly staggering.

Then, something even more shocking occurred. On both sides of the island ahead, towering walls of seawater hundreds of meters high rose up, surging toward the land.

The people on the island felt it even more intensely because the entire island beneath their feet was shaking violently.

"Heavens! What is that?!" Everyone stared, slack-jawed, at the monstrous tsunamis rising on both sides of the island.

"A tsunami! How can there be such a terrifying tsunami?!" Cana was completely stunned.

"Cana! Stop dazing out, get underground!" Natsu seemed to have been mentally prepared for this. The moment he saw the tsunami, he immediately used his flames to blast a large hole in the ground.

Hearing Natsu's shout, Cana instantly jumped in and used her Magic Cards to set up a defense.

"Requip: Black Wing Armor!"

"Satan Soul: Take Over!"

Erza grabbed Gray, and Mirajane hoisted Elfman, quickly flying into the sky before the tsunami hit.

BOOM!!!!

The horrific tsunami crashed onto the island. Water is the source of life, and a splash of water usually doesn't hurt, but when a massive volume of water gathers together, it possesses world-destroying power. Everything in its path was obliterated; the island's animals were swept away, trees were snapped and uprooted, and rocks were leveled. Everything on the island was ravaged by the sheer force of the impact.

The tsunami came fast and retreated just as quickly, leaving behind a post-apocalyptic scene before everyone's eyes.

Gray looked at the island's wreckage in shock. "Is this why Chu Yan is called a 'Humanoid Natural Disaster'?" Just looking at the scene caused an involuntary shiver of fear in his heart.

Erza's face was grave. "That's right. Chu Yan uses a Super Magic of ultimate destruction. If he wanted to, he could have vibrated this entire island into the depths of the sea just now. To be honest, even with the six of us combined, we might not be his match. But there is a sliver of hope; if we fight alone, we have no chance at all."

"Sister Mirajane! I definitely think it's better to team up against Chu Yan."

Mirajane's expression was grim. "Dammit, that bastard was holding back when he fought me."

"Pwah!" Natsu and Cana finally crawled out from underground, staring at the scene in front of them, completely dumbstruck.

Chu Yan scratched his head and gave a bright, awkward smile. "Ah! Haha! Seems I used a little too much strength."

"That's not 'a little,' it's 'way too much'!!!" The people on the boat shouted in unison.

"Um... there's one serious problem. Can someone take me to the island? I can't swim."

Flop! Everyone on the boat fell onto the deck simultaneously. The shift in tone was too abrupt. One moment he's creating a world-ending tsunami with a wave of his hand, and the next he's telling them he can't swim? You've got to be kidding.

Because Chu Yan had eaten the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, he had tried his luck earlier. After all, the worlds were different; maybe the weakness of the Devil Fruit had vanished. Unfortunately, the conclusion was that the fruit's weakness had also been perfectly inherited.

Of course, Chu Yan didn't care much; once you reach a certain level of strength, the sea can't really restrict you. But in certain moments—like now—it was quite embarrassing.

In the end, Happy carried Chu Yan to the island. "Happy, thanks. Oh, look, there's a big bluefin tuna right here, it's yours." Since the tsunami had washed many fish onto the island, many were left behind as the tide receded. The most prominent one was a large bluefin tuna.

Happy's eyes sparkled, and he began to drool. "Tuna! Such an expensive fish! I've never eaten a fish this fancy before. Chu Yan, you're the best!" Happy happily grabbed the tuna and flew back to the boat.

"Master, will my brother and sister be okay?" Lisanna had been worried for Chu Yan, but who knew he could turn from a harmless, kind-hearted youth into a world-destroying Super Boss in the blink of an eye?

"That boy knows his limits. Well... probably! ..." Makarov looked at the island that had been nearly erased by a single move, and his confidence wavered.

"Are you all there?"

Chu Yan looked ahead. Not far away, six figures appeared. The once lush island had been flattened by Chu Yan, making many sights clear at a glance. There was no point in hiding anymore, and his earlier move made them realize the gap—this was not an opponent that could be handled individually.
