"Dad I don't want to get married", Elara practically yelled infront her father who was too busy to be even bothered by my complain, too much caught up in his files and materialistic things.
"You don't have any choice Elara, you have to marry him, he is the only one who can save my collapsing company", Cedric, Elara's father said firmly.
"This company has nothing to do with me, I was not the one who told you to waste the companies money on that gambling shit, and now when you can't pay debt you are forcing me into this unwanted marriage, how cruel father you are", Elara yelled with fire in her eyes.
"Oh shut up if I was that cruel i wouldn't have let you pursue your dreams and passion", Cedric sternly let out,
Elara sarcastically chuckled and said, "Ohh please, do you think of me as a fool, I know grandpa forced you to support me, if it wasn't for him you would have forcefully made me the CEO of the company of my grandpa, you actually ruined this company, grandpa knew how to handle company way better than you".
Cedric fumed in anger as he stood up with force which made his chair to fall down as he lashed out saying, "Stop being disrespectful towards me, I am your father okay, atleast do something for your family once, you have always been selfish, didn't take over the company and chose to make your career in fencing, I didn't stop you but this time you have to obey me".
"Which family you are talking about, the family in which you were never present, always used to stay with your shity drunkard friends, have you ever once thought about me or Mom"? Elara asked loudly.
"Don't bring Suzanne in this matter, I have always cared for both of you", Cedric said, this time his pitch lower, a contrast to his earlier yellings.
"Ohh stop with your melodrama, don't you get tired of pretending as a good father, atleast stop this bullshit infront of me, if you cared enough YOU WOULDN'T HAVE KILLED MY MOTHER", Elara yelled as hot tears slipped from the corner of her eyes.
Hearing her yell and the words that slipped from her mouth Cedric lost his control and slapped Elara hardly which made her face jerk to the other side, "Stop bringing the past every time you feel like you are losing verbal battle between us", Cedric said ignoring the pained expression of Elara.
"Is my mother's death a plaything to you?? do you think she is a thing I would use against you to win a verbal battle?? She is for God sake my mother, you hear
Mr.Cedric Ashford, I, Elara Montclair will not marry the guy you chose", Elara finished.
"Even he is not dying to marry you, don't think so high of yourself, he is marrying you only for buisness and not to mention Elara Montclair, you took your mother's surname gracefully but you will also fulfill her last wish of marrying the guy I chose for you respectfully", Cedric declared which made Elara out of words.
She recalled something, memories from a year back clashing her in the bones, dark room, Suzanne laying on the floor, blood oozing from her stomach, Cedric sitting right next to her frozen on his place with a bloody knife in this hand,
Elara rushed towards her mother only to hear her saying, "Elara, marry the guy Cedric choose for you", everything stopped when Suzanne closed her eyes for forever.
"You are compelled to fulfill your mother's last wish Elara, only that will make you a true daughter of Suzanne, She never backed away from her word, she gave me everything willingly, you- Elara will simply fulfill your duty", Cedrics words were like a knife piercing Elara right in her chest.
She loves her mother as much as she resents her last wish, she still didn't get why her mother wanted her to marry the guy of Cedrics choice, the answer of her questions left with her mother a year back.
"I will marry the guy you chose, not because you won, it's because my love for my mother is way bigger than my hate for you, I will help the company to be saved from being bankrupt, not because you are the CEO but because it belonged to my mother and my grandpa before you got it as a gift for your marriage", Elara said heavy heartedly.
"Okay then meet the guy I chose for you tomorrow, I will soon arrange your marriage,
Don't create any scene infront of him, I am sending you his picture", Cedric said this time normally even though inside he was burning from anger.
"What's the point of this formality now, even if he is not even worth looking at I have to marry him as I am compelled to do so, you have chosen him then he must be an asshole for sure what can I even expect from you, I don't know what my mother saw in you that she married you and also gave you her company to handle", Elara said being slightly disappointed.
"If you are done with your drama then leave from the company, I have got works to do", Cedric ordered as Elara huffed loudly and got out of the office but she slammed the glass door shut which made Cedric flinched hardly as he cursed Elara in his brain.
Elara got out of the company, she felt that sting and heaviness of words said by her father in her chest, she took deep breath determined to make her father pay for the sin of killing her mother.
She booked a cab as she waited for the cab to arrive, she has inherited her grandpa's property, she is also the 50% share holder in her father's company but she actually doesn't care about it, she has always followed her passion which was fencing.
Her grandpa after her mother is her biggest supporter, she stays in her own apartment which she bought with her own money, she is independent and whatever she has now is totally because of her hardwork.
If she wanted she would have carried her grandpa's legacy forward but she was never interested in business stuffs and her grandpa supported her passion, he also threatened Cedric that he will take that 50% shares of the company and will transfer it on Elara's name if he doesn't support her passion.
Elara was sitting on a bench lost in her thoughts waiting for her cab but got out of her thoughts when she felt someone tapping on her shoulder, she looked up only to find a beautiful lady staring at her softly.
The lady was of her mother's age, she had serene purplish eye colour, wavy hairs, she looked divine even with the little wrinkles on her face, she pulled out a book which was beautifully wrapped in a gift wrapper from her handback and forwarded it infront of Elara.
Elara confusedly stared at the book and then at the lady who gave her the softest smile she has seen, the same smile her mother used to give her, the lady gestured Elara with her eyes to take the book which she unknowingly took, the lady again gave a fond smile to Elara and softly caressed her hair which made Elara close her eyes.
Elara opened her eyes when she heard a car honk, she looked here and there only to find the lady who gave her the gift wrapped book was no where to be found, she only found the Cab she has booked, she confusedly looked at her hand which still held the book tightly.
She thought of leaving the book on the bench only but she wasn't able to do that, she took that book with her and sat in the cab, soon she reached her apartment.
She was sitting in her bedroom staring at the book which the unknown lady gave her, she was instinctively drawn to that book as she opened the gift wrap, her pitch black doe eyes widened a little when she saw the cover page of the book.
"THE LEGEND ALPHA PRINCE", that was the books title, she softly ran her fingers through the letters of the corner page which to her surprise started glowing at her touch, suddenly a bright golden light surrounded her and she disappeared.
