Chapter 1 - Reborn as a Dragon

Episode 1

"Reborn as a Dragon"

---

Opening Scene – The End of a Normal Life

Rain tapped softly against the streetlights.

A 19-year-old girl stood at a crosswalk, headphones in, half-asleep after another long day of college. Her name was Aiko Hoshino—average student, average life, but with an unusually loud personality and a habit of joking about "being reborn in another world".

She checked her phone.

> "Ugh… I'm gonna be late again."

She stepped forward—

A blinding white light.

No pain.

No sound.

Just silence.

---

The Goddess

Aiko opened her eyes.

She was floating in an endless star-filled space. No floor. No sky. Just galaxies drifting like glitter.

In front of her stood a woman.

Or rather… something pretending to be a woman.

Long silver hair flowing like liquid light. Eyes that looked like entire universes. She wore a simple white dress, yet her presence made reality itself feel small.

Aiko blinked.

"…Am I dead?"

The woman smiled.

> "Very."

Aiko stared.

"…Wow. I really got isekai'd, didn't I?"

The goddess giggled.

> "I like you already."

She spun around in the air, floating upside down.

> "My name is Astrael. Goddess of Everything, Nothing, and Boredom."

Aiko felt pressure just being near her.

> "So… heaven?"

Astrael tilted her head.

> "Not quite. More like… backstage of existence."

Aiko hesitated.

> "Am I going to be reincarnated as, like, a slime or something?"

Astrael's eyes sparkled.

> "Better."

She snapped her fingers.

The stars rearranged into images of dragons, demons, magic cities, monsters.

> "I'm sending you to one of my worlds. You'll be reborn as a True Dragon."

Aiko froze.

"…A what."

> "Top-tier race. Near-god potential. Extremely cute."

Aiko's brain crashed.

"…I don't get a normal human life?"

> "You already had one of those. Boring."

Aiko sighed, then smirked.

"…Do I at least get to be hot?"

Astrael burst out laughing.

> "Oh, you're going to be ridiculously hot."

Aiko felt her body dissolve into light.

> "One more thing," Astrael said teasingly.

"You won't remember everything right away. Watching you figure it out is the fun part."

> "HEY WAIT—"

---

Rebirth – The Cave

Darkness.

Cold stone beneath her.

A strange heavy feeling.

Aiko opened her eyes.

But they weren't human eyes anymore.

She saw in sharp colors, glowing outlines, heat signatures.

She tried to move—

And fell over.

> "Wha— why is the ground so close?!"

She looked down.

Small claws. Red scales. Blue scales. Tiny wings. A tail flicking behind her.

She screamed.

Except it came out as:

> "Rrrrrrrk!"

She froze.

"…I'm a lizard."

She tried to stand.

Failed.

Rolled.

Hit a rock.

> "RRRRRRK!!!"

After several minutes of flailing, she finally managed to stand on four legs.

Her balance was awful. Her wings kept twitching. Her tail smacked the wall.

> "Okay… okay… walking tutorial stage."

She took a step.

Slipped.

Faceplanted.

> "…I was promised dignity."

---

First Enemy

A low growl echoed through the cave.

Red eyes appeared in the darkness.

A massive Shadow Wolf emerged—twice her size, black fur, glowing fangs.

Her instincts screamed.

Danger.

The wolf lunged.

Aiko panicked.

She swung her claw.

It connected.

The impact sent shockwaves through her arm. The wolf flew into the wall.

She stared at her claw.

"…Did I just one-shot a boss?"

The wolf got back up.

Angry.

It charged again.

This time she didn't think.

Her body moved on instinct.

She dodged. Her tail swept the wolf's legs. It crashed. She jumped—claws glowing faintly—and slammed down.

The wolf stopped moving.

Her heart was racing.

Her entire body was shaking.

Then a new feeling appeared.

Hunger.

Extreme hunger.

She looked at the wolf.

"…No. Absolutely not."

Her stomach growled.

> "…I am NOT eating raw monster."

Her instincts took over.

She bit.

Pause.

Chewed.

Her eyes widened.

"…Why does this taste like steak."

She kept eating.

> "…I hate this. I love this. I hate that I love this."

---

Growth

Over time, she hunted more monsters:

Cave spiders

Stone lizards

Bat creatures

Each fight made her faster. Stronger. Smarter.

She learned:

How to jump with wings

How to use her tail for balance

How to aim her claws

She still couldn't talk.

But she thought perfectly.

> "Okay. So I'm a baby dragon. In a dungeon. With no Wi-Fi. This is my life now."

She reached the cave entrance.

Light poured in.

For the first time, she saw the outside world.

Blue sky. Giant trees. Floating islands in the distance.

She stepped forward—

And heard screaming.

---

The Boy and the Goblins

A boy was being cornered by three goblins in a forest clearing.

He looked about her age physically—maybe 15 or 16.

He held a weak staff, shaking.

> "S-Stay back…!"

The goblins laughed.

Aiko felt something weird in her chest.

> "…Wow. First day outside and I already found a tutorial NPC."

The goblins attacked.

She rushed in.

One goblin swung a club—she blocked it with her claws. Another grabbed her wing—she bit it.

The third goblin jumped her—

She barely dodged and slammed it into a tree.

She was panting.

One goblin tried to stab her—

She blasted it with raw physical force, knocking it out cold.

The goblins ran away.

The boy collapsed on the ground.

He looked at her.

Terrified.

A dragon.

Staring at him.

She tilted her head.

> "Rrrk?"

The boy slowly raised a trembling hand.

> "D-Don't eat me…"

She blinked.

> "…Wow. I just saved him and I'm still the villain."

He stared at her for a long moment.

Then something appeared in front of him.

> [Would you like to attempt Taming?]

He swallowed.

> "I… I guess I'll die if I don't try…"

He reached out.

Magic light formed a contract circle.

Aiko felt it.

She could resist.

But instead…

She stepped forward.

> "…Sure. Let's see where this goes."

The contract activated.

The boy gasped.

> [Taming Successful: Rare Familiar – ??? Dragon]

His eyes went wide.

> "I… I tamed a dragon…?"

Aiko sat down proudly.

Tail swishing.

> "Rrrk."

(Yeah. You did.)

---

Ending Shot

The boy stared at his status screen in disbelief.

The tiny dragon looked at the sky, smiling internally.

> "New world. New body. And I already broke the system."
