Chapter 18 The Talent of the Mobile Doll
Chapter 18 The Talent of the Mobile Doll
I heard a sound.
Su Jinjin quickly slipped into the pharmacy, held her breath, and looked towards the source of the sound through her analytical glasses.
"Buzz—Boom!"
The roar of the engine grew closer, and suddenly a bright red sports car sped out from the end of the road. Its streamlined body gleamed with a dazzling metallic sheen in the sunlight, its rear wing was raised high, and its tires screeched against the ground.
That's clearly an F1 Formula One race car!
"What the hell?" Su Jinjin's eyes widened.
The incongruity of this race car against the post-apocalyptic ruins is simply outrageous.
This is clearly not apocalyptic!
The analytical glasses immediately locked onto the target, and through the race car, she saw a figure wearing a helmet in the driver's seat.
[Resume Eye] activated, the other person's information immediately appears:
Name: Jing Ningyu
Gender: Male
[Professional Skill: Talent - Mechanical Dolls: Able to bring toys to life]
[Weakness: Extreme obsessive-compulsive disorder about cleanliness]
[Note: One of the players randomly selected by the system]
"Toy materialization?" Su Jinjin was taken aback when she saw this talent, then suddenly realized.
This F1 car was not actually real.
Instead, it was this player named Jing Ningyu who used his talent to materialize the toy race car!
Su Jinjin then used the item identification ability of the analytical glasses to identify the race car.
The race car didn't look like a toy at all, but it was roaring and speeding along in a real way, and even the sparks from the tire friction were clearly visible.
"He actually has such talent!" Su Jinjin exclaimed, her eyes wide with envy. "If he had a model tank or fighter jet toy, wouldn't he be invincible?"
However, considering that using his abilities would consume his stamina, he figured this guy's talent must also be very taxing.
But then Su Jinjin frowned again: "But isn't this guy being too high-profile? Even though it's not nighttime, if he drives such a conspicuous car at night, isn't he afraid of attracting a mob of parasitic variants?"
As if confirming her thoughts, the roars of the parasitic variants immediately came from several buildings in the distance, clearly attracted by the engine noise.
Although they cannot escape, these parasitic variants are still affected.
However, Jing Ningyu seemed completely unconcerned. The red race car executed a beautiful drift, leaving charred marks on the ground with its tires. Then, with a "boom," it accelerated and disappeared at the end of the street in the blink of an eye, leaving only a string of arrogant engine roars echoing among the ruins.
It took Su Jinjin a while to come to her senses: "So high-profile, does this person even have a brain?... "
She shook her head, preparing to continue her search plan, when she suddenly heard a soft "crack" behind her—like some hard object shattering glass.
Her body froze instantly. She slowly turned her head and saw a twisted humanoid shadow outside the shattered pharmacy window slowly straightening up, its blood-red eyes staring straight at her through the glass shards.
It is clearly a parasitic variant hidden in the room.
The roar of Jing Ningyu's F1 race car attracted the attention of the parasitic variants hidden in the distance.
This further alarmed the monster lurking inside the pharmacy.
The humanoid parasitic variant looked at Su Jinjin.
Close contact with the humanoid parasitic variant.
Su Jinjin realized that the beings before her could no longer be described as human.
Its limbs seemed to be elongated, its eyes were bloodshot, and its skin was ravaged; the creature was described as a beast that was extremely hungry for flesh and blood.
Just as the opponent was attacking Su Bai.
Su Jinjin reacted even faster than him!
The moment she sensed danger, she pulled out a sonic blaster from her spatial storage with her left hand and fired a shot at her opponent!
"Buzz—!"
The shockwave erupted, distorting the air and throwing the humanoid parasitic variant over the force of the impact, slamming it against the wall.
However, its body is strengthened through parasitism.
It only staggered for a moment before lunging forward again!
Su Jinjin's eyes turned cold, and the silver needle in her right hand instantly condensed into a slender silver needle fencing sword. With a flash, the needle-thread fencing sword moved like lightning!
"Sizzle! Sizzle! Sizzle!"
Skills include quick sewing.
The energy threads traced silver trails in the air, instantly sewing the parasitic mutant's limbs to the ground, rendering it immobile.
"Roar—!" the monster struggled and roared.
But Su Jinjin had already switched to the new weapon.
With a blank expression, he drew his axe and chopped it down hard on its neck!
"Pfft!"
The head rolled off, and dark red blood spurted out.
Immediately afterwards, a scarlet parasitic blood worm emerged from the severed neck, its grotesque limbs thrashing wildly as it tried to escape.
Su Jinjin snorted coldly, and her silver needle sword pierced out instantly, precisely penetrating the insect's body!
"squeak--!"
The parasitic bloodworms emit sharp hissing sounds and finally die helplessly.
[Ding! Parasitic Variant - Human defeated, mission progress 2/100]
The system notification sounded, and Su Jinjin flicked the blood off her silver needle fencing sword, her expression icy.
During the day, she can see the disgusting appearance of the parasitic bloodworms more clearly.
The scarlet insect's body was covered with black spots, and its chelicerae dripped with sticky fluid, making it nauseating.
"Seriously, if I ever run into that Jing Ningyu again, I'm going to make him pay!" Su Jinjin muttered through gritted teeth.
"Driving such a noisy car, is he trying to attract all the monsters in town? Luckily it's not nighttime, or I would definitely curse him to be surrounded by parasitic mutants!"
She took a deep breath to calm herself, then quickly checked her surroundings to make sure no other parasitic variants had been disturbed before continuing toward the hardware store.
"However... this person's talent is truly enviable."
Su Jinjin pouted, thinking to herself, "If I could materialize toys and just turn into a Gundam, why would I need to go through all this trouble?"
Shaking her head, Su Jinjin stopped thinking about it, gripped her weapon tightly, and stepped into the next target location.
Su Jinjin cautiously pushed open the glass door of the hardware store, the hinges making a jarring creaking sound.
Instead of going in immediately, she stood at the doorway and kicked the metal shelf next to her hard.
"Clang—!"
The loud noise echoed through the empty shop.
She held her breath and listened intently.
There was no unusual noise, no hissing sound characteristic of parasitic variants.
"Hmm, very good, no parasitic monsters."
Having learned her lesson at the pharmacy, she was smarter this time.
After confirming that it was safe, Su Jinjin stepped into the store with peace of mind.
The hardware store was filled with the smell of metal and machine oil, and tools were scattered all over the floor.
She crouched down and began carefully searching for usable supplies.
Wrenches, screwdrivers, nails... ropes—these ordinary tools are obviously of little use in the post-apocalyptic world where players are struggling to survive.
But for Su Jinjin, they were all supplies.
Throw any usable metal parts into the space.
After picking up the things.
Su Jinjin found a relatively clean corner to sit down, took out the bread she hadn't finished eating that morning from her spatial storage, and started nibbling on it.
Breadcrumbs fell in a flurry as she stared blankly at the pile of metal parts in front of her.
Suddenly, an idea flashed through her mind.
"The Tailor's [Clothing Making] skill...this skill still has experiments, and it seems there are no material restrictions in the skill's effects!"
