Chapter 63 - Chapter 63

The gazes these children directed at each other all carried a hint of hostility.

But when they spotted Jiang Chen, every one of them revealed stunned expressions, which then turned into pity.

In a place like this, a child as young as Jiang Chen coming here was practically courting death.

Jiang Chen ignored their looks and walked into a noodle shop.

The shop owner appeared to be a simple, honest middle-aged man. After the noodles were served, Jiang Chen asked a question.

"Uncle, I just arrived here and don't know the rules yet. Could you explain them to me?"

The owner was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said, "The rules here are very simple: fighting is not prohibited, but killing is not allowed. Also, for the houses, as long as no one is living in them, you can move in. When the training starts, there will be a bell to gather everyone."

Jiang Chen was somewhat dumbfounded. With just these two or three sentences, that young man earlier had actually dared to demand five gold soul coins from him. How truly excessive.

"Thank you." Jiang Chen expressed his gratitude.

The shop owner advised, "Little friend, the training in this concentration camp is no joke. One careless mistake and you could die. I advise you to go back home. If you really want to come, wait a few more years until your cultivation is stronger before coming here."

"Alright, I understand." Jiang Chen replied, then began slurping his noodles.

Seeing Jiang Chen's completely indifferent attitude, clearly not taking his words to heart, the owner shook his head and walked away.

Over the years, he had seen countless young, tender faces here, only for them all to lose their lives in that brutal training.

After finishing and paying, Jiang Chen left the shop and began wandering around the city.

He noticed that many houses had a sign hanging outside stating they were already occupied, while those without signs were empty.

Finally, he selected a small building about five hundred meters from the square and hung the sign outside to indicate it was taken.

Since the training hadn't started yet, he planned to settle here for the time being.

However, before he could even sit down properly, someone came knocking.

The visitors were three teenagers, all around ten years old, who barged directly into Jiang Chen's house.

Jiang Chen had some impression of these three. When he had gotten off the carriage earlier, these three guys had been squatting not far from the square.

All three had arrogant, smug attitudes. The leader was a slightly chubby boy.

He stared at Jiang Chen, his eyes flickering as he said, "Kid, this isn't a place someone like you can come to. If you don't want to die, get lost and go home right now. Of course, before you leave, hand over that bag of money on you."

So it was a robbery. Jiang Chen sneered inwardly. Judging from their cultivation, none of these three had even reached the level of Great Soul Master. Robbing him was truly kicking an iron plate.

Seeing the sudden cold smile appear on Jiang Chen's face, the chubby leader was momentarily stunned, then said, "We're all at the Soul Master level. Kid, I'm afraid you haven't even reached the Soul Master realm yet. You want to resist?"

Jiang Chen walked forward, his smile suddenly turning brilliant. "That's right, I want to resist."

The moment he finished speaking, a fist crackling with electric arcs had already struck the chubby boy's abdomen.

A muffled thud rang out, and the boy flew more than ten meters away, instantly falling unconscious.

"Big brother!" The other two teenagers' expressions changed, revealing shock.

"You're courting death!" Both of them roared in fury and transformed at the same time. Both were beast martial souls, one tiger, one leopard, and each had a single yellow hundred-year soul ring. They were a strong attack system, battle soul masters.

As expected of the Spirit Hall, even random kids encountered in this concentration camp had hundred-year soul rings.

The two teenagers didn't hesitate and charged at Jiang Chen with ferocious expressions.

Watching the enlarging fists approach, Jiang Chen didn't even release his martial soul. He simply met them with a punch of his own.

At the same Soul Master realm, he had never feared anyone. Even though Qian Renxue had been thoroughly suppressed by him, how could he possibly fail to deal with these two brats?

Crack!

The tiger martial soul boy was directly sent flying backward, the ferocious grin on his face freezing in place. Suddenly, he let out a miserable scream.

The other one fared no better. Jiang Chen's punch smashed into his face, nearly caving it in.

"My hand… It's broken!"

"Wuu… wuu…"

The tiger boy wailed frantically. The leopard boy's jaw had dislocated, and several teeth had been knocked out. His martial soul had retracted in fear, and he was too terrified to speak.

"Get lost!" Jiang Chen shouted coldly. His body underwent a ferocious transformation as he opened his mouth and roared.

Seeing Jiang Chen looking like an evil god, the two boys were filled with terror. They scrambled away, dragging their unconscious leader as they fled in panic.

Jiang Chen returned to his human form, curled his lip, and looked somewhat disdainful.

Those two had even used their soul skills earlier, yet they couldn't withstand a single punch from him. They were truly too weak.

A squad of enforcers passed by and saw the three fleeing in a sorry state, but they showed no reaction.

Fighting was not prohibited here, as long as no one was killed, they wouldn't intervene.

At dinnertime, Jiang Chen walked around the city once more. Apart from a few guarded areas, he had basically explored everywhere.

He roughly counted that there were probably around a hundred boys and girls in the city, all at the Soul Master realm.

As for Great Soul Masters, he hadn't spotted a single one yet.

Almost every boy and girl who saw him showed expressions of pity, mockery, or disdain. After all, how could a six-year-old child possibly pose any threat to them?

Appearing here was nothing more than delivering himself to death.

When passing by a milky-white building, he saw the three teenagers who had barged into his house earlier.

The three came out from inside, spotted Jiang Chen standing at the entrance at a glance, and their faces instantly changed color. They greased their feet and fled madly.

Jiang Chen didn't pursue them. What interested him was that the three's injuries had actually healed.

He walked into the milky-white building and found quite a few boys and girls inside, most of them bearing injuries.

After they paid money, healing soul masters would treat them.

Jiang Chen took a look, and there were several healing soul masters here. Some were two-ring Great Soul Masters of the healing department, some were three-ring Soul Elders of the healing department, and there were even a few who hadn't acted yet, whose cultivation levels Jiang Chen couldn't discern.

Shaking his head, he walked out. By the time he returned to his residence, his storage ring already contained many more items.

There were plenty of dry rations, drinking water, and various wilderness survival tools: ropes, hooks, tents, fire starters, daggers, short swords…

Earlier, Hu Liena had briefly mentioned that her training back then included wilderness survival, and these were essential items.

Jiang Chen had also seen quite a few shops specifically selling these tools, so he had bought some.

Since such shops existed in the city, their presence had a reason. These things might really come in handy.

Many of the boys and girls in the city had already begun forming groups, discussing how they would stick together and advance or retreat as one in the days to come.

From some of the teenagers' conversations, Jiang Chen also learned some information: tomorrow would be the official start of the training.

His heart began to fill with anticipation.
