In a fancy restaurant, where famous and wealthy people could be seen having dinner as it was the time of night, couples and families sat talking and smiling at each other, enjoying their expensive meals, on one of the tables sat a woman, she sat quite uncomfortably, turning every second to stare at the restaurant's entrance and looking down at her wrist watch and going back to look at the entrance,
"Miss, would you like anything to order?" A waiter who noticed the lady sitting there for quite sometime without ordering, decided to ask her. Quinn turned to look at the waiter, embarrassed, and she smiled,
"I'm sorry, the person I'm expecting is late and I have to wait for him, please don't mind my presence, once he's here, we will order," Quinn said smiling and hoping they wouldn't kick her out of the restaurant. The waiter smiled at the beautiful looking woman, he's seen a lot of ladies but this one was a beauty he had never come across, he could also notice other men in the restaurant turning to stare at her.
"Alright," the waiter said and left immediately and she sighed in relief.
"Sorry for arriving late, Quinn," she turned hearing the deep manly voice and nodded looking at the person she was waiting for.
"It's alright, Ben," she replied.
"Did I make you wait too long?" Ben asked staring at her with his blue eyes and a smile on his sexy lips.
"No, it's okay....." She turned to look at the restaurant and then to look back at her cousin, "I thought uncle would be the one coming to meet me?"
"He is busy and couldn't make it so he sent me.... Aren't you happy to see me? I mean it's been a while since I last saw that beautiful face of yours," he said grinning, she is indeed a beauty with her lush black and shinning hair and pale skin, not to forget the most beautiful emerald green eyes he had ever seen, her face looked like it was sculpted by God without any rush, and her body... That alone could get a man following her like a dog, he grinned widely thinking.
"I don't mind you being the one who is here, all I just want is for uncle to hand over the papers of father's property, we need it.... Kieran and I," she said with a frown on her pretty face making Ben smirk.
"I see.... About that, it can't happen," he said grinning.
"Why!" Quinn said frowning, "It is something that we need as you know of Kieran's illness, the doctor said he needed to go through surgery soon, and it's our father's will, why can't we have it?"
"You see dear, your father gave his company and house and also all the money he had to my father, so that should mean that it's my father's now, doesn't it?" Ben asked with a smile on his face.
"That's absurd! Father did that for a reason and uncle knows that too, so do you and now that father is dead, we need it, it's ours," Quinn said with anger visible in her tone.
"I'm sorry Quinn but you can't have it anymore, it's now legally ours, it was legally given to my father and let me let you on a little secret.... Come close," he said and Quinn leaned forward as he whispered, "We got your father killed," her eyes widen on hearing that and as she was about to lean back, he pecked her cheek, startling her, she got up and slapped him hard on his cheek, the sound resonating round the room as people turned in their direction.
"You are pathetic! You and your father!" She said in a whisper staring at Ben who held onto his cheek shocked, staring at Quinn and suddenly he grinned, letting his hand drop to his side.
"Sit down, Quinn," he said
"Why should I? You are pathetic Ben! How could you both do that to him, he did nothing to deserve such an horrible thing!" Quinn said glaring at him, while he kept smiling like a mad man.
"Wanna get your property back? Sit down..... Now," he repeated again and Quinn felt all the more disgusted and he even tried to kiss her, she glared and sat still glaring at him, "Good girl," he added.
"Why would uncle and you do such a thing to him, he was all we had, and you know that too," she spoke hurt and unable to believe that her uncle and his son could murder her father, "The police would hear of this, both you and your father would be sent to jail, I promise-"
"And what proof do you have to prove that to them, darling?" He said with a grin
"Don't call me that! You are disgusting.... I'm gonna gather evidence and make sure you and your father rot in prison, I can't believe you'd do that to him, I mean why?" She said both shocked and hurt glaring at him with hate.
"Calm down baby, don't curse and glare like that, even with you looking like that you still look hot to me," Ben said his eyes moving round her body and grinning while Quinn just glared at him in anger, "Tell you what?...." She heard him say going back to look at her face and she stared back hoping he'd say something meaningful,
"You don't have to live in poverty, Quinn, you deserve better and I want to help you, all you need to do is accept.... To be my girl-"
Quinn gasped and stared at the shameless man in front of her who was looking at her seriously now, "You are just so disgusting, Ben, both you and your father are heartless and despicable," she paused and stared at the table lost in her own thoughts, Now how would I care for Kieran and myself, this people I call family are heartless and don't care about us, I have to look for a job and start earning before it's time for Kieran's treatment, Quinn thought to herself as Ben just stared at her, she raised her gaze to look up at her heartless cousin,
"I see that no word of mine makes any difference to you," she said as she stood up and carried her bag, "I am leaving, Ben and don't think I won't gather evidence and put both you and your father in prison, don't think I will let it all drop, No I won't, so enjoy the wealth while it lasts," she turned ready to leave,
"You don't have to go and suffer, Quinn. I offered you something that will not only benefit you but also your half dead brother, all you need to do is spread your beautiful legs and let me-" he couldn't complete his sentence as Quinn once again turned and slapped him hard on his cheek for the second time tonight, glaring with intense hatred, people turned in their direction wondering what was happening to the couple for it's been the second time the woman slapped the man who now looked shocked with widen eyes.
"Don't utter such disgusting words to me ever again, Ben. And my brother is going to be just fine, you watch and see," she turned and left not bothering about the eyes that followed her, while Ben sat there and just rubbed on his throbbing cheek while he stared at the entrance Quinn walked past.
Quinn arrived at the little apartment she and her friend Lucy shared, she wasn't one bit happy about what she learned from Ben, she had so much on her plate now and no one to help her out, she walked into the apartment to see Kieran and Lucy playing a video game, on seeing her enter the room, Kieran jumped up, he had same black hair as Quinn and same green eyes, he looked really handsome even though he isn't completely healthy, he smiled at his sister,
"You are back, Quinn. So how did it go with uncle?" He asked cheerfully and Lucy, a blonde with blue eyes turned to look at her friend waiting for her reply. Quinn stared at them both wondering if she should tell them, of course she had to, she closed her eyes for a second and sighed before explaining all what happened to them without leaving any details.
"You don't have to worry, Kieran. I will get a job soon and take care of your surgery payment and also tuition fee..... All I just need to do is get a job, which I will be applying for from tomorrow," she said with worry marrying her pretty face as she stared from Kieran to Lucy and back again. They just stared at her knowing that she was panicking and wasn't thinking things would be easy from now on.
"It's okay, sister. You don't have to worry about my treatment yet, look at me.... I'm fine, I won't be needing the surgery anytime soon and about my study, I can also get a job-"
"No Kieran you won't," she said leaving the entrance she has been standing at and going to sit on the chair in the dinning area and placing her bag on the table.
Kieran stared at her and so did Lucy, they knew she was worried about everything and won't allow Kieran to work due to his health issue,
"Your uncle and cousin did wrong, they should have thought of Kieran's health and at least leave something for you both, it's not fair," Lucy spoke getting up and walking to where her friend was sitting and gently patting her on the back.
"I never knew they were like that, not until this evening that I found out how horrible they both were, I mean father never hurt them, why did they decide to do that to him," she already knew the answer to that question, For money.
"You can't do it all alone, Quinn. I will help out by getting a-" Kieran was interrupted.
