Chapter 1 - Fate Returns

My name is Rani, a 1000 years old vampire. I lost my entire bloodline in a bloodshed and I was also stabbed with a designated dagger, I was at the bink of death when I was rescued by Eloise I call her Grandmaster.

For the past 1000 years I've been looking for a particular person, Pen she was my lover I wonder if she reincarnate.

I got dressed to go to work, I own a big hotel across the city but i need to do some interior renovation, I'm setting out to go meet the designer. Ii called Bam my secretary she's also a vampire but still a baby.

" Where's this place? I asked as I walk into a building

"It's the cafe the designer agreed to meet us" answered Bam.

We walked up to the designer but I was shocked when the designer looks exactly like Pen, I composed myself not to act carelessly.

She introduced herself as Mia, the interior designer but I couldn't stop looking at the similarity between her and Pen. After the meeting I told Bam to gather me some Information about her.

The next day Bam called me to inform me about her.

" She's an orphan, she lost her parents at age 5, raised by the orphanage till age 18, no news about her education yet " said Bam

I went to meet Eloise to confirm whether she reincarnated or not.

Grandmaster, Grandmaster I called as I entered into the large building and was met by Collins her husband we exchanged pleasantries and I went straight up to the Grandmaster's office.

" I need you to answer me yes or no" I said to Eloise who was looking at me with confusion in her eyes.

" Has she been reborned i asked

How do you expect me to know that answered Grandmaster

" You're the afterlife King's sister of course you should, you know the past, present and future " I said to her

So what if she's reborned what are you going to do ? Eloise asked

" Protect her. I said sharply. I promise I would find her and protect her.

And you're sure you could protect her without your powers what if she betrayed you again said Eloise

" No Grandmaster, she didn't betray me, Pen would never do that to me that why I need to find and protect her" I said shakily

You don't need to protect her, meeting her again will bring you ruin in the future. Said Grandmaster

" With a cracking voice i said I still love her, i still need to protect her,

Then look for her yourself said Grandmaster

" My face lit does that means she's reborned i asked and Eloise gave me a faint nod.

I rushed out of the building like a happy baby ..

Immediately I got to the office I called Bam, The Grandmaster said she was reborned so we can begin our search. Bam looked at me with an unserious eye and and she asked where do we begin looking confused. Then I remembered

Where do we start from, what if she still a baby I scratched the back of my head.

" if you find her what are you going to do? Asked Bam

Let's find her first i answered. ..

We're having meeting with the interior designer today to discuss about the designs. I walked into the meeting room and sat down to listen to her presentation.

Mia stood up and introduced herself to the other employees and presented her proposal:

"For the lobby, I suggest durable marble floors with area rugs in the seating zones for warmth, a layered ceiling with recessed lights and subtle chandeliers to make the space feel taller and elegant, walls painted in neutral tones with an accent wall behind reception for visual interest, a mix of sofas and armchairs arranged to ensure smooth guest traffic and comfort, layered lighting combining overhead fixtures and table lamps for both brightness and ambiance, and carefully chosen accessories like potted plants, rugs, and simple artwork to add personality without cluttering the space

I felt so immersed with her proposal and other employees quickly agreed to go with her brilliant proposal after some minutes the meeting ended and the chatter of the employees faded. Mia walked towards me " um... I was wondering she said her voice soft but steady " would you like to grab lunch with me? There's a cafe nearby that's really good.

I tilted my head slightly, studying her. "Lunch…? Yes, that sounds fine," I said, my voice steadier than my pulse.

followed Mia through the bustling streets to a small, cozy café tucked between tall buildings. The scent of coffee and pastries filled the air, but my senses picked up everything else too the warmth of the sunlight through the windows, the quiet hum of conversations, the faint rustle of the barista behind the counter. Every detail was sharp, as it always was, but my attention kept drifting back to her.

She smiled as she held the door open for me. That smile… it feels like a memory I can't remember.

We sat at a corner table, the kind with soft lighting and a view of the street. Mia ordered a latte and a sandwich, chatting casually about the design choices she'd made for the hotel floor materials, lighting layers, furniture placement explaining everything in a way that was precise, thoughtful, and surprisingly warm.

I nodded along, asking the occasional question, but my focus wasn't on the food or her work. It was on her the way she moved her hands when she spoke, the way her eyes lit up when she mentioned the seating arrangements, the subtle pull I felt in my chest I couldn't explain. Why does it feel like I've known her forever?

At one point, she leaned slightly forward, adjusting a napkin on the table, and my vision seemed to sharpen in a strange way. I caught myself staring, and my heart something I thought had long stopped for ordinary humans skipped in a way that made me scold myself silently. Focus. She's just… a designer. Nothing more.

But even as I told myself that, part of me whispered another truth:

She's familiar. She's… mine.

After we finished our drinks, Mia leaned back and laughed at something she said, and I felt a strange pull in my chest like the familiar warmth of a memory I couldn't reach. Why does her presence feel like a thread connecting me to something long lost? I shook my head, forcing myself to focus on the table in front of me instead of the pull that made my breath catch.

As we stood to leave, I noticed a soft glow of sunlight hitting her hair, making it shine in a way that seemed almost… too familiar. My senses tingled, alerting me to something buried deep within her, her aura, her soul, it was like a faint echo of someone I had loved across centuries.

I walked slightly ahead, keeping my steps measured, careful not to betray the storm of emotions rising inside me. Calm. Don't scare her. She doesn't know… she doesn't know who she is.

When we got the office, Mia waved me goodbye with a soothing smile and said she could love to have a meal with me another time.

I smile....
