This story begins in a small Chines city called Hangzhou. Hangzhou is an incredibly beautiful place, famous for its serene West Lakes. People here live peacefully and share happiness with one another.
In this city, our main character is born into a middle-class family on October 9,1955 at 11:25 p.m. on a rainy night. Her name is Shen Yuan.
Her parents Mo Chen and Tu Mo are overenjoyed by her arrival. Their home fills with warmth and laughter. They work tirelessly to care for their beloved daughter, doing everything they can to keep her happy and provide for her needs.
As time passes, Shen Yuan grows up into a lively and spiritual girl. Her sixteenth birthday is approaching. Every morning, her father drops her off at school before heading to work. But Shen Yuan is more interested in fun than in studies. She is playful and mischievous, yet kind-hearted. She never hurts anyone or breaks hearts, she simply loves joking around with her friends. Often, she and her friends even skip school just to spend time together.
One afternoon, only a few days before her birthday. Shen Yuan and her friends decide to visit West Lake after school. The evening air is gentle and the last rays of sunlight shimmer across the water's surface. The atmosphere feels calm...almost too calm.
