Synopsis
Power doesn’t always announce itself. Sometimes… it sits beside you. He entered the company as a learner. No title. No authority. No special treatment. Just another face in the Contents department — watching, listening, absorbing. For one month and a half, he was meant to understand the ground beneath the empire his father built across four countries. To study the employees. To feel the rhythm of ambition. But power cannot hide forever. Eyes begin to linger. Whispers begin to travel. And somewhere between camera lights and design drafts, a connection forms — quiet, dangerous, undeniable. She sees him as ordinary. He knows he is not. And when identity collides with emotion, when ambition clashes with attachment, and when succession quietly begins before anyone is ready… The COMPANY will no longer be just a workplace. It will become a battlefield — of loyalty, desire, and inheritance.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 2: The First Test

The morning air in the office felt heavier than usual. Screens glowed, keyboards clattered, and the hum of printers filled the room, but a subtle tension lingered—something that no one could quite put into words.

A new project was rolling out in the Contents department—a high-profile marketing campaign for one of the company's biggest clients. The stakes were higher than usual, and everyone could feel it.

Liam Ford sat at his desk, hands hovering over the keyboard. He had been observing the team for days, learning how they edited videos, designed layouts, and brainstormed ideas. But today was different—today, he would try to participate.

He picked up a draft of a video storyboard, glanced at the footage, and hesitated.

"Shouldn't we… cut this scene earlier?"

he asked, his voice small but hopeful.

Damien, the senior staff member known for his brilliance—and his subtle cunning—leaned over with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Hmm… interesting thought,"

he said slowly, tilting his head.

"But have you considered how this change might affect the pacing? Maybe we should test it another way."

He wasn't helping. Not really.

Liam nodded, trying to follow the advice, but his fingers fumbled across the keys. The footage didn't match the storyboard. Colors clashed. Text overlays appeared in the wrong order. For the first time, Liam felt clumsy and exposed.

"Don't worry, it happens to everyone the first time," Damien said, crouching closer.

"Let me show you a trick."

As he leaned in, Liam felt a surge of relief—and trust. But somewhere deep, a part of him hesitated. There was something in Damien's movements, the way he spoke, that seemed… calculated.

Minutes passed. Corrections were made. Adjustments tweaked. But Damien wasn't done. He subtly suggested removing a critical frame, one that carried the emotional heart of the video. Liam paused, unsure.

"Should I…?" he asked quietly.

"Trust me," Damien said, his voice soft but firm.

"This will make it stronger. You'll see."

And the young man, still inexperienced, nodded.

By lunch, the video had been edited, color-corrected, and partially finalized. On the surface, it looked polished, professional, and ready for review. But only a few could see the cracks beneath—the small mistakes that could later become significant problems.

Liam leaned back in his chair, exhaustion and pride mixing together.

"I did it," he whispered to himself, a small smile forming.

Damien smirked. It wasn't the smile of friendship. It was a smile of anticipation—he knew Liam had taken the bait, and that the real game was only beginning.

Liam stretched his arms and let out a quiet sigh, the tension of the morning slowly melting away. For a moment, the office noise felt distant, replaced by the small sense of accomplishment that came from finishing the edits. He had survived his first real test in the Contents department, and that thought gave him a fleeting spark of confidence.

Damien watched him from across the desk, the sharpness in his eyes softened by a practiced calm.

"Good work," he said,

though his tone was measured, almost unreadable.

"But remember, this is only the beginning. The real challenge isn't finishing a video; it's learning how to handle every detail when the pressure is doubled."

Liam nodded, trying to absorb the words. He still felt small in comparison to Damien, whose reputation for excellence in the department was legendary. Every movement, every suggestion from Damien carried weight—sometimes more than Liam fully understood. And yet, he couldn't help but feel that there was something thrilling about being under the guidance of someone so skilled, even if he didn't know Damien's true intentions.

By the end of the day, the office had quieted. Most of the team had left, leaving only a few staff to finalize the final touches. Liam leaned back in his chair again, watching the screens flicker with the completed video. He allowed himself a small smile, a sense of pride mingling with exhaustion.

As he packed his things and prepared to leave, Liam's mind buzzed with the day's events. He didn't yet know that this small taste of the Contents department was only the beginning of a much more complex game—a game where ambition, talent, and hidden motives would collide in ways he could never predict.

And Damien… Damien was already thinking three steps ahead.

The days moved faster than Liam expected.

What had once felt overwhelming slowly began to feel familiar—the rhythm of the office, the constant hum of computers, the quiet competitiveness hidden behind polite smiles. He was still inexperienced, still learning, but he was no longer completely lost.

And yet, time was running out.

It had almost been a month since Alexander Ford had arrived at the branch to inspect operations personally. A month since Liam had stepped into the Contents department, determined to prove he was more than just the CEO's son.

The visit had never been permanent.

Late that evening, as the office lights dimmed and most employees prepared to leave, an internal announcement circulated through management:

The CEO's scheduled review period would conclude within the week.

Liam read the message twice.

So this was it.

Soon, he and his father would return home. The structured days, the quiet pressure, the subtle lessons—this chapter would close whether he was ready or not.

Across the room, Damien glanced at Liam, as if he already knew what was on his mind.

"Leaving soon?" Damien asked casually.

"Yes," Liam replied, trying to sound composed. "In a few days."

Damien gave a slow nod. "A month is enough to plant seeds."

Liam didn't fully understand what he meant.

But Damien did.

Because this wasn't goodbye.

This was preparation.

Outside the glass windows, the city lights flickered against the darkening sky. The branch would return to its normal rhythm once the CEO departed.
