Umm… Mind if you're not watching me closely? You know it's rude to peek into someone's book while they're watching, right?"
That's what I've been thinking of saying in my mind to her. But I didn't dare to do it. Even the ambiance was enough to trigger her wild side, I'm actually afraid to not get outright shanked alive by her.
If you're wondering, my death from this hag reached double digits by now. Simply from me get jumped when she stretched her neck and went in front of my face.
Silent… Is absolute in this place. Even the smallest exhale could get you killed here.
When you broke those rules, she started with a screech and stretched her arm and killed you with her black painted-covered finger.
That is… The librarian…
I would have changed my priority to kill her if it wasn't for that fucking asshole. But she regained a bit of my respect for keeping the library clean, but I'm still spiteful because she killed me numerous times. I'm actually angry I had to fight off the greenhoppers and went through a lot of shit climbing this cliff just to get killed by her again.
Again, this hag is half an asshole…
Thus, I simply gave her a smile, which made her retract her neck and went back to read her book.
And I, get up and put the book I read into its place and immediately get out from the library without making a single noise.
…
"2 hours before the dusk, I still got time."
As I muttered, I picked up the stuff I had thrown on the ground and went back to the way I came from. While avoiding any entity of course.
…
As I was making my way down the hill, I went back to the Beetlepup's corpse. At this point, the dangerous gas he's releasing has faded out, which confirms that It's safe for me to come close to him. I picked up the chair leg I threw to him a while ago as I went to autopsy its body.
I've picked up something important that can be used later.
…
I arrived back at the bottom of the hill, towards the army of greenhopper's remains. Just to explain, I didn't bother to autopsy their body because I already got what I wanted from them. Which is more than enough.
So I stepped over them and went back to planning what to do next.
…
I'm exhausted from all the walking. The thirst also comes back to messing with my mind. Some part of me wished I could have drunk more of Sunworm's drool back then, knowing how disgusting it was…
(Damnit, I wished I'd gotten a bottle or something. Most of them I've found were broken or had a crack on them. I could've taped it if it was a small crack, if I could find any tape to begin with.
To begin with, most of the areas were restricted. Either by the really strong and vicious entity or by the blocked path. One wrong move could've risked my life.
I've learned a lot of things in the Library, which is the greatest step, as I've got all the knowledge stored in my mind.
Science, technology, weapons, vehicles, etc, I wished I'd made them by now, only if I were to be given time…
The time and date don't matter to be mentioned since it's been a long while since the world fell into this unknown chaos.
What could have happened here? Even the Library doesn't hold a single knowledge about it. At this point, I'm on my own here.
…
I'm finally here, near the abandoned building where my head was decapitated…
I closed my eyes to heighten my all-sixth sense, and then…
*SWING!*
I ducked down as I already felt what was coming.
"Yo, motherfucker… Ready to dance for eighteen times?"
Beyond the wall, the building has begun to collapse. The dust covers the whole area, blocking my sight against an entity…
*SWING!**SWING!*
Another one is coming, the reflection of the sun emanates to my eyes, which is the sign to use the Mazard shield to block them off.
"Urgh!"
The force of the attack sends me to the back as I drag my feet against the ground. This isn't any enemy that I could stomp them with my feet, it's the real enemy! A dangerous one at that.
Having the appearance of a silver-robed man, I couldn't see anything beyond the robe, even their skin color. That was my first thought when I first had my eyes on him.
In its hand, there is a long blade dragged on the floor. Too long as if he were dragging a rope- No, a whip. A Blade whip…
I've read a book about the hunter before. They usually sneak from a distance and shoot their prey with a projectile called a gun. It's the same as the entity in front of me, stealth beyond the wall, and strike when I'm inside their range. The only difference is I'm aware of it…
Thus I called it the Silver Hunter. An entity that sneaks around using its whip blade and kills you the moment you least see it.
"Heh, I'm getting used to this force."
I stepped forward as I shook off the greenhopper's needle with my wooden stick which was attached to my shield. I consider them annoying but useful and prefer not to damage any of them in this agility and endurance-preferred type of battle.
I marched forward with my shield as I ducked, covering my whole small 10-year-old body. Preparing to face the certain death that might claim my life- No, a day's worth of stuff I'm gathering. Again, it's a hassle to collect all of them.
As I sprinted forward, I was met with a multiple force clashing against the shield that almost made me stop my march, but by using gravity and momentum, I managed to get close to him.
Seeing its behavior, I could tell that the Silver Hunter was wary of my plan and tried to back off to maintain its distance from mine. And I for sure couldn't just let the situation fall in his favor. I gripped my wooden stick tightly and threw it at Silver Hunter.
But even in the close distance, the Silver Hunter tilted his head and managed to evade my throwing spear. But the situation is still within my prediction as I sprint forward to get to him.
3.5 meters, is a perfect range for Silver Hunter to get rid of the pesky pest with his whip blade. The silver hunter spun to gain momentum and sent the ship blade in my direction.
The blade hit, but it's against my shield.
That kind of force would've sent me back without a doubt, thus defeating the purpose of my advance to begin with. That's why… I let go of the shield as I duck below and once again march.
Without my shield, I leave myself unprotected. And it's the same for the Silver Hunter at this moment, even if it still had a whip blade in its possession.
Why? That's because I parried the whip off with my shield. Thus messing up the projectile of the whip as it's still in the air. To gain the momentum back, he had to pull the whip and spin it again, but it took a few seconds for him to do that. This means right at this moment, he had nothing he could attack me with, which was the perfect chance for me to defeat him.
The Silver Hunter, realizing he was close to me, his other hand pulled out a dagger from his hideous robe.
But I'm but a 10-year-old kid, and compared to his adult size, he might be strong enough to defeat me just by using his bare hand, let alone with the dagger.
But I've met this scenario so many times. There is said to be an alternate future in which my destiny could be diverted. But there's one fixed thing that would absolutely happen here.
When I get close to Silver Hunter, his fate is already sealed tight…
I fend off the dagger that tried to swing its way towards me, and bring out the rusty knife I hid in my clothes. I pulled off the silvery robe and revealed the entity's appearance.
It has arms and legs, but inside the robe, there's nothing but numerous eyes inside the weak and fragile goo like torso…
From top to bottom, I grip the rusty knife tightly and gouge its goo…
The Silver Hunter was finished the moment I stabbed its body, thus splattering the slimy inside on me, head to toe.
