Chapter 17 - chapter 17- Would And Whisper

Wounds and Whispers

The warehouse was quiet now, but the echoes of gunfire lingered in every corner.

Dominic and Liam leaned against the cold metal walls, chests rising and falling with exhaustion.

"You're hurt," Dominic said softly, brushing a cut along Liam's shoulder.

"I'm fine," Liam replied, but the edge in his voice betrayed him.

"You're reckless," Dominic muttered, voice low, dangerous. "And I can't stop worrying."

Liam leaned into him. "Then don't. That's part of loving me, isn't it?"

Dominic's hand cupped Liam's face, thumbs brushing over jaw and cheek. "You're mine," he whispered. "Even when you drive me insane."

Liam smiled faintly, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to Dominic's lips. "And you're mine. Always."

Elsewhere, Marco and Noah sat against the warehouse wall, hands intertwined.

"You okay?" Marco asked, thumb brushing over the back of Noah's hand.

Noah nodded, breath shaky. "Better… with you."

Marco leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Noah's temple. "You're brave. Stronger than you know."

Noah's lips curved into a faint smile. "You make me stronger too."

The tension from earlier danger shifted, blossoming into tenderness, intimacy, and a quiet heat that didn't need words.

Sebastian and Jax were crouched on the rooftop, watching the city lights flicker below.

"You never lose your calm," Jax said, voice low, fingers brushing against Sebastian's.

"Someone has to," Sebastian replied, voice quiet, almost vulnerable.

Jax leaned closer, letting their foreheads touch. "Then I'll be your calm… if you'll let me."

Sebastian's hand found Jax's, fingers lacing. Their breath mingled, desire simmering just beneath the surface, fueled by adrenaline and shared danger.

Back at the penthouse, Dominic and Liam cleaned the blood and sweat from their wounds, silently tending to each other.

"I can't promise this will ever be safe," Dominic murmured.

"I don't want safe," Liam whispered, pressing a kiss to Dominic's collarbone. "I want you. Even if it's dangerous."

Dominic's hands traced the lines of Liam's back, pulling him closer. "You're reckless," he said again, voice low and rough.

"And you love it," Liam countered with a grin, soft and teasing.

The night stretched on, quiet except for the whispers of the city below. Midnight had tested them, burned them, and sharpened their desire—but it had also forged bonds no threat could break.

Every brush of skin, every whispered word, every heartbeat shared was a promise:

No matter the danger, no matter the darkness, they would face it together.
