Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Tempted

Truth be told, I was completely won over by Liu Wei's arguments. The old fox had hit every point that mattered to me. Still, I didn't rush to show my hand. I curled my lip and said, "You've been rambling on and on, but isn't it just because you've got your eyes on my wife?"

Liu Wei laughed without any restraint, his grin so sleazy I felt like slapping him a few times.

"Of course! Your wife is a first-class beauty, no doubt about it. That figure, that face—she's absolutely top-tier. Liao, my friend, don't get mad when I say this, but ever since I saw your wife a few years back, I've fantasized about her more times than I can count. To be honest with you, there were plenty of times when I was with your sister-in-law, but in my head, I was thinking of your wife. You have no idea how much I envy you." Liu Wei chuckled slyly, his eyes lighting up as he spoke of my wife, practically drooling.

I looked at him with disgust. The thought of another man fantasizing about my wife gave me a sour feeling in my heart.

Seeing that I wasn't responding, Liu Wei patted me on the shoulder and asked quietly, "Bro, tell me the truth—what do you think of your sister-in-law?"

Liu Wei's wife, Tian Xiaomo, was 39 years old and worked as a teacher. In terms of looks, she really couldn't compare to my wife, but she was more youthful and attractive than most women her age, placing her in the upper-middle range—basically the kind you'd lose in a crowd. However, her figure was exceptionally good. Perhaps because she'd been a teacher for so long, she had a certain elegance about her and was particularly warm and approachable, making it easy for people to like her.

"Sister-in-law is great, much better than you, you sleazy old man," I said.

Liu Wei nodded, his grin growing even more obscene. "What I'm asking is, do you have any feelings for your sister-in-law? Do you want to sleep with her?"

I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. It would be a lie to say I hadn't thought about it, but Liu Wei's question was just too direct. I didn't know how to respond right away. I could only say those shameless things when I was caught up in the heat of the moment, unlike this guy, who could spout them anytime, anywhere.

"Bro, your sister-in-law might not measure up to your wife, but let me tell you—even though she's usually all about teaching and comes off as reserved, in bed she's downright insatiable. Especially down there—she's so wet, it's unbelievable. The feeling is so good, I guarantee you'll be coming back for more after just one time." Liu Wei lowered his voice, his expression utterly lewd.

"So, what do you think? Care to consider it?" Liu Wei raised his eyebrows at me.

I nodded, deciding not to beat around the bush any longer, and said bluntly, "To be honest, I'm tempted. But this isn't something I can decide on my own. How about I go home tonight and discuss it with your sister-in-law? You should talk it over with your wife too."

Seeing that I was softening, Liu Wei got excited and gave me a hard slap on the shoulder. "No problem on my end. My wife has a good impression of you—she'll definitely agree. In fact, she might even be more excited than I am when she hears it's you and your wife. Now it's all up to you. You've got to convince your wife, bro. I'm counting on your good news."

"I can't make any promises. All I can say is I'll do my best," I replied.

"That's all I need to hear. I believe in you, bro," Liu Wei said happily, quickly moving his chair back to his desk and picking up his phone to start texting. "I'm going to share this good news with my wife right now."

"Hold on, it's not a done deal yet," I hurriedly tried to stop him.

Without even looking up from his phone, Liu Wei said, "I have a feeling it's going to work out."

What a load of crap. If this works out, fine, but if it doesn't, how am I supposed to face his wife in the future? Wouldn't it be unbearably awkward?

Just as I was about to stand up and stop him, the office door swung open and Wang Di walked in. She glanced at Liu Wei and said sternly, "Old Liu, who said you could use your phone during work hours?"

Seeing Wang Di, Liu Wei immediately put on an innocent, harmless smile. "Manager Wang, you might not be aware, but as route planners, we need to check the news every day to stay updated on local conditions. I'm just doing my job seriously."

"Whether you're reading the news or not, you know the truth. You're a senior employee—you should act like one. What's with all the slick talk all day?" Wang Di's nagging was genuinely annoying, yet no one dared to cross her. After all, she held the power over performance reviews, and whether our salaries got docked was entirely up to her.

Sure enough, Liu Wei backed down immediately and obediently put his phone aside.

"Liao Fan, come to my office later. I need to talk to you," Wang Di said to me before turning and leaving.

Liu Wei watched her retreating figure, stroking his chin and licking his lips. "If that woman weren't so nagging, she'd be a total catch. Just wait till I get a chance—I'll definitely screw her."

"Cut it out. Are you that desperate for a woman?" I snapped, too embarrassed to admit that I'd had similar thoughts.

"Bro, work aside, don't you think Wang Di has a certain charm?" Liu Wei said.

"I'm not as sleazy as you," I muttered, ignoring him. I picked up my teacup, took a few sips, and then stood up to head to Wang Di's office.

After all, Wang Di was the manager. Unless higher-ups were around, she was in charge here, so her office was naturally much more luxurious than the cramped one Liu Wei and I shared. The over-20-square-meter space was fully carpeted, with a spacious desk in the center and a set of genuine leather sectional sofas against the wall. Honestly, I wouldn't mind spending my days waiting to die—uh, I mean, working—in an environment like this.

Perhaps because Wang Di was a woman, her office always carried a faint scent of perfume. I considered myself quite familiar with perfumes, but this particular fragrance gave me a very different feeling—it seemed to stir up desire while simultaneously suppressing it, leaving it unresolved.

This sensation was peculiar. In other settings, like a hotel, I would have gladly enjoyed it, but in an office, it felt somewhat strange. That's why, unless necessary, I usually avoided coming here.

"Xiao Liao, make yourself at home. Don't be so formal." Seeing me enter, Wang Di greeted me, picked up a teacup, and poured me a coffee from the water dispenser by the door before casually locking it.

Her actions made my heart race. Was this woman planning to pull some shady move on me today?

Wang Di was sharp and immediately saw through my thoughts—or perhaps my awkwardness. Covering her mouth with a laugh, she said, "Don't overthink it. I just wanted to chat with you about something personal. I locked the door so no one would barge in and overhear, which wouldn't be good for you."

I breathed a slight sigh of relief, though I also felt a twinge of disappointment. I shook my head vigorously. Lately, I didn't know what was wrong with me—my mind was constantly filled with thoughts of women, and whenever I saw a pretty one, my mind would drift to that kind of thing.

Maybe it was because, two days ago, I had experienced a woman other than my wife for the first time, and it had left me feeling a bit carried away.
