Chapter 1 - Dreams They Never Heard

Chapter 1: The Silent Dream

JD often asked himself a question he never dared to ask out loud:

If I am useless, then why do my dreams refuse to die?

He belonged to a small, middle-class family in Multan, living in a modest house tucked away in narrow streets. Life there was simple, limited by money and even more limited by expectations. His family didn't hate him—but in their eyes, JD was never capable enough.

"This boy will never become anything."

JD had heard that sentence so many times that it no longer hurt. It had become part of the air he breathed.

He was quiet by nature. In class, at home, everywhere—silence followed him. People mistook his silence for weakness, never realizing that an entire world lived inside him, screaming to be seen.

His 12th-grade exams were going on. He opened his books every day, but his mind wandered far beyond the pages. Somehow, barely, he passed. There was no celebration, no pride—just a deep sigh, as if life had said:

This is all you get for now.

But JD carried one dream in his heart.

Just one.

To become an actor.

He never told anyone. Not his friends. Not his family. He already knew how they would react—laughter, mockery, disbelief.

"You? An actor?"

"Learn some real skills first."

So the dream stayed hidden, alive but silent, locked deep inside his chest.

At night, when everyone slept, JD watched movie scenes on his phone. He studied expressions, emotions, the way actors spoke without words. Then he looked at himself in the mirror. He was handsome. Intelligent. Yet the world only saw his failures.

Depression had become his daily companion.

Fear of the future. Financial pressure. And the quiet pain of feeling invisible.

Then one day…

JD made a decision.

To leave city Multan

Karachi.

A city that either destroys dreams—or finally gives them a name. He told his family he was going there to find a private job. The real reason remained buried in his heart.

As the bus pulled away from Multan, JD looked out the window. There were no tears in his eyes—but his heart felt unbearably heavy.

He didn't know what Karachi would give him.

Failure? Loneliness? Or his first real chance?

But one thing was certain…

JD was not useless.

He was just undiscovered.
