Chapter 81 - Deceased

"It's been a long time since I've had coffee made by Aunt Kazuha, I'm really looking forward to it."

Kenmyo Isayama was in a European-style living room, and a figure was busy in the open kitchen.

Who would have thought this house was already four hundred years old? The interior decoration style of the Isayama Family was not as ancient as other long-standing families, but rather exquisitely luxurious and European.

This was mainly because Isayama Naraku, who looked only forty but was actually over sixty, was in front of Kenmyo Isayama; this man simply liked this style.

Kenmyo Isayama's uncle, Isayama Naraku, even at home, dressed like a proper gentleman, complete with a suit vest, black trousers, leather shoes, white gloves, and a cane.

He was a burly man, but the scar at the corner of his right eye was quite prominent, giving him a somewhat fierce aura amidst his solemnity.

Isayama Naraku exuded the imposing air of a superior, but Kenmyo Isayama had known his uncle for over a decade and knew him to be a relatively gentle elder, just fierce in appearance.

Unlike his second uncle, Isayama Yu, who always wore a stern face and constantly interrupted Kenmyo Isayama, often reprimanding him from his position as an elder.

However, regarding Isayama Mei's matter, Kenmyo Isayama found it difficult to say anything more.

The choice of the family heir was not for Kenmyo Isayama, a child brought back from outside, to dictate.

"Young Master Kenmyo, you really know how to talk."

Aunt Kazuha, who was hand-grinding coffee, smiled and spoke. She was a spirited woman with a single ponytail, dressed in a butler-like uniform.

Aunt Kazuha is the housekeeper of the Isayama Family's main branch. She is roughly forty years old. Since Kenmyo Isayama's uncle, Isayama Naraku, suffered serious injuries during an exorcism operation, leaving him with inconvenient leg problems, he needed someone to care for him.

"Master's black coffee, and Young Master's coconut latte."

"Thank you."

Kenmyo Isayama took the coffee from her hand and thanked her. Compared to the bitter taste, he now preferred something sweeter. Life was already so bitter; wouldn't it be too cruel if even his taste buds had to suffer?

"If Young Master Kenmyo could visit the Master and Young Lady more often, I believe they would both be very happy."

As Kazuo placed the teacups in front of Isayama Naraku and Kenmyo Isayama's Cursed Energy, she couldn't help but add a word.

"Kazuo!"

Isayama Naraku, sitting next to Kenmyo Isayama and drinking coffee, glared at her angrily.

"Hahahaha, Aunt Kazuha, there's cake in the fridge."

"I bought it before I left, everyone gets a piece."

Most of these servants of the Isayama Family had worked here since Kenmyo Isayama was a child, so he was not unfamiliar with them.

"Then thank you, Young Master Kenmyo."

Kazuo took the cake and thanked Kenmyo Isayama.

"If anything happens, remember to call me."

"Alright, thank you for your hard work."

As the footsteps faded, only Kenmyo Isayama and his uncle Isayama Naraku were left in the vast living room. His cousin, Isayama Yomi, was still out on a mission.

"Mei, you haven't been here in a long time."

Isayama Naraku still didn't know Kenmyo Isayama's purpose, as the Isayama Family's intelligence capabilities were truly lacking.

There was no other way; the family had declined. In a family of only five people, the intelligence department was the first to suffer devastating damage.

Isayama Yomi had always received information from the Jujutsu Sorcerer Association, while Isayama Naraku, being a retired Jujutsu Sorcerer, only knew what the Jujutsu Sorcerer Association informed him.

However, accident investigations take time, and if the Jujutsu Sorcerer Association did not inform him of the final accident determination, he would know nothing.

The news was quite delayed; even now, Isayama Naraku didn't know that his brother was missing and his niece was severely injured and unconscious.

He still thought Kenmyo Isayama had come to the house to play with Isayama Yomi.

"Yomi won't be back until evening."

Kenmyo Isayama took a deep breath; this was where the trouble lay before.

Strictly speaking, he was the initial discoverer of the accident. He had impulsively wanted to question Sister Mei, but never expected such a major incident to occur.

How could it be kept secret? It was better to confess the problem himself early, as Kenmyo Isayama was the last person to visit the Isayama branch family.

"Uncle, the Isayama branch family is gone."

Kenmyo Isayama's first sentence made Isayama Naraku think he had misheard.

"I just came back from there; the Isayama branch family has vanished from the map. Second Uncle and Sister Mei are both missing."

However, Kenmyo Isayama's mind was clear about exactly what had happened.

In fact, his second uncle, Isayama Yu, was not visiting a friend as Sister Mei had said at the time; he was already dead.

When the white-haired imp's head was snatched away, Kenmyo Isayama had specifically checked the basement in the ruins.

When Kenmyo Isayama found him, he had five fatal wounds, all from knife slashes, and had died peacefully.

His body already showed signs of decay, indicating he was beyond recovery.

As expected, he was killed by Sister Mei, who was controlled by the Killing Stone.

Kenmyo Isayama finally helped Sister Mei dispose of his second uncle's body.

He used fire to completely burn Isayama Yu's body to ashes, and for safety, Kenmyo Isayama even disposed of the ashes.

After all, patricide was too scandalous to spread. Kenmyo Isayama simply reported both the father and daughter as missing.

Otherwise, one could imagine: "The eldest daughter of the exorcist family, the Isayama Family, was possessed by the Killing Stone, murdered her own father, and is currently on the run."

The Jujutsu Sorcerer Association would inevitably issue a kill order for Sister Mei, and what kind of detrimental impact would that have on the reputation of the entire Isayama Family?

The final executioner would likely still be Yomi-nee. The beleaguered Isayama Family could no longer withstand such turmoil.

But the problem was that Kenmyo Isayama had already taken Sister Mei in. Where would Yomi-nee find Sister Mei to complete the mission?

Such a matter would be disgraceful if it got out, so Kenmyo Isayama, in for a penny, in for a pound, blew up the Isayama branch family again, making all traces completely disappear.

This also served as an explanation.

Isayama Naraku saw the serious expression on his nephew's face, with no hint of joking, and the smile on his face immediately vanished.

He became extremely serious, his hand gripping the cane trembling greatly.

"What happened, Mei?"

"Tell me everything that happened when you went to Isayama Yu's place."

Isayama Naraku's voice trembled. Although he wasn't particularly fond of his brother, upon hearing that both his brother and niece were missing, his heart couldn't help but clench.

In this era of frequent Cursed Spirit appearances, being missing is synonymous with death.
