Night slowly settled over Astra Dominion Academy.
The enormous campus that had seemed lively and crowded during the day became quieter as the academy lights illuminated the long training grounds and towering buildings. Students moved back and forth between dormitories, cafeterias, and preparation halls, trying to settle into their new lives.
For many of them, tonight was filled with excitement.
For others, it was filled with anxiety.
Tomorrow, the real training would begin.
Inside Dormitory D, Leo sat quietly on the edge of his bed.
His roommates were busy with their own activities.
Ryu was lifting a set of portable training weights, clearly trying to show off his physical strength even inside the dorm room.
Milan sat at his desk reading a thick book about monster classifications.
Kai leaned back in his chair, lazily spinning a small combat knife between his fingers.
"You guys nervous about tomorrow?" Kai asked casually.
Ryu snorted.
"Why would I be nervous? I've been training since I was six."
Kai smirked.
"Yeah, but fighting a training machine and fighting a real monster are very different things."
Milan quietly added without looking up from his book.
"The academy loses students every year."
The room fell silent for a moment.
Then Kai looked toward Leo.
"What about you?" he asked.
"You're the quietest one here."
Leo looked up calmly.
"I'll manage."
Kai raised an eyebrow.
"That's it?"
Leo nodded.
"That's it."
Kai laughed lightly.
"You're interesting."
Leo didn't respond.
Instead, he stood up.
"I'm going outside for a walk."
Ryu glanced at him.
"At this hour?"
Leo shrugged.
"I want to see the campus."
Without waiting for another question, he left the room.
The Silent Grounds
The academy grounds at night felt very different.
During the day, they were full of activity and competition.
But now, only the quiet sound of wind moving through the training towers could be heard.
Leo walked slowly along a stone pathway that passed through several open training fields.
Some advanced students were still practicing.
Sparks of magic flashed in the distance.
Metal weapons clashed under dim lights.
The academy never truly slept.
Leo stopped near a large observation platform overlooking the training grounds.
From here, he could see most of the campus.
For a moment, he simply stood there in silence.
Then—
A voice spoke behind him.
"You're not like the others."
Leo turned.
Standing a few meters away was a girl.
She looked about the same age as him.
Long silver hair flowed down her back, reflecting the moonlight softly. Her eyes were an unusual shade of pale violet, glowing faintly in the darkness.
She wore the same academy uniform as the other students, but there was something different about her presence.
Something calm.
Something observant.
Leo studied her quietly.
"And what makes you say that?" he asked.
The girl walked a little closer.
Her eyes never left him.
"When you arrived today," she said softly, "I felt something strange."
Leo remained expressionless.
"A feeling," she continued.
"Like standing near a deep ocean."
Leo's gaze sharpened slightly.
Not many people could sense anything about him.
Especially not a student.
"Most people here feel like small sparks," the girl said.
"But you…"
She paused.
"You feel like a storm that hasn't started yet."
For a brief moment, the sleeping god inside Leo stirred.
Not aggressively.
Just… aware.
Leo crossed his arms.
"What's your name?" he asked.
The girl tilted her head slightly.
"Luna."
She studied him again.
"And yours?"
"Leo."
Luna nodded slowly.
"I thought so."
Leo frowned slightly.
"You thought so?"
She smiled faintly.
"When I looked at the student list earlier, one name felt… different."
Leo remained silent.
Luna stepped closer to the edge of the observation platform beside him.
For a moment they both looked out over the academy.
Then she spoke again.
"Your mana signature is almost nonexistent."
"That means the academy systems think you're weak."
Leo said nothing.
"But that's not what I see," Luna continued.
She turned toward him again.
"I have a rare ability."
Leo raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Oh?"
"I can see spiritual echoes," she explained.
"The true nature of someone's existence."
Leo finally understood.
That explained why she could sense something.
But even then, she should not be able to see through the seal of a divine being.
Yet somehow…
She had noticed something.
"What do you see when you look at me?" Leo asked calmly.
Luna hesitated.
For the first time, uncertainty appeared in her expression.
"It's hard to explain."
She looked directly into his eyes.
"Most people have a clear spiritual outline."
"But yours…"
She swallowed slightly.
"Yours looks like an endless darkness… filled with stars."
Leo said nothing.
Inside him, the sleeping god watched silently.
Luna took a step back.
"You don't have to answer if you don't want to," she said quickly.
"I just wanted to confirm something."
"What?" Leo asked.
"That I wasn't imagining it."
She smiled faintly.
"You're hiding something incredible."
Leo looked away toward the academy lights.
"I'm just a student."
Luna laughed softly.
"No."
Her voice became serious.
"You're something much more dangerous than that."
For a moment, the wind blew across the platform, moving her silver hair gently.
Then she turned to leave.
But before walking away, she said one last thing.
"Don't worry."
"I won't tell anyone."
She paused.
"Secrets are safer when fewer people know them."
Leo watched her walk down the pathway until she disappeared behind one of the training towers.
For several seconds, he remained completely still.
Then he exhaled slowly.
"That girl…"
Inside his chest, the sleeping god whispered faintly.
"She sees shadows of truth."
Leo nodded slightly.
"Yes."
For the first time since arriving at the academy, Leo realized something important.
This place might contain more than just ordinary students.
There were people here with unusual abilities.
People who might notice things others couldn't.
That meant he needed to be even more careful.
But strangely…
Leo didn't feel threatened.
Instead, he felt curious.
Because Luna was the first person in this life who had looked at him…
And sensed the truth hiding beneath the surface.
Far Away
At the same moment, deep within a ruined mountain far beyond the human domains, a monstrous being opened its burning eyes.
It felt something faint.
A disturbance in the balance of existence.
Something ancient.
Something sealed.
Something that should not exist on Earth.
The creature growled slowly.
And somewhere in the dark cosmos above the planet…
Other powerful beings began to notice it too.
