Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 — Starter Packs

The system pulsed softly in front of my eyes.

[STARTER PACK — AVAILABLE]

I didn't hesitate.

"Open," I said.

The air around me seemed to tighten, like reality itself was bracing.

[STARTER PACK OPENED.]

One line appeared… then another… then another.

[1. SUPER ABILITY ACQUIRED — FLASH FORGE.][DESCRIPTION: Allows the user to create physical objects directly from imagination into reality.]

I froze.

"…What?"

I raised my hand instinctively.

A thought formed—simple, controlled.

A dagger.

Light bent. Space folded. Something clicked into place.

A perfectly balanced dagger materialized in my palm, cold and solid, its weight unmistakably real.

My breath hitched.

"No material cost," I whispered. "No delay. No incantation."

Just imagination.

I clenched my fingers and the dagger dissolved into particles of light.

This wasn't fabrication.

This was conceptual manifestation.

The system continued.

[2. PASSIVE MASTERY ACQUIRED — WEAPON OMNIPROFICIENCY.][DESCRIPTION: Instant mastery of any object classified as a weapon.]

I didn't even need to test that one.

Swords. Spears. Firearms. Experimental weapons. Reality anchors. Anomalous tools.

If it could be used to harm, I would understand it perfectly.

Battlefield adaptability at its absolute peak.

Then the third message appeared.

[3. TALENT ACQUIRED — GENIUS.][DESCRIPTION: Cognitive processing raised to peak human limit. Accelerated learning. Perfect comprehension of complex systems.]

I closed my eyes slowly.

This wasn't just power.

This was infrastructure.

I could design containment facilities.Reverse-engineer anomalous technology.Predict SCP behavior patterns.Optimize Foundation growth centuries in advance.

When I opened my eyes again, the world felt… clearer.

Sharper.

Like someone had removed an artificial limit I hadn't known was there.

"…I may have gotten something a little unfair," I admitted into the system chat.

Responses came immediately.

Julius:Define "unfair."

"I can create objects from imagination," I typed. "Instantly master any weapon. And my intelligence just hit peak human."

There was a pause.

Then—

Alexander:Of course you did.

Cleopatra:Luna. That's terrifying.

"Wait," I added. "Let me see what you all got."

The system responded as if it had been waiting for that command.

[GROUP STARTER PACK SYNCHRONIZATION — AUTHORIZED.]

Information flooded my vision.

JULIUS CAESAR

Authority of Command: Absolute loyalty from subordinates under defined conditions

Strategic Foresight: Can simulate battles, politics, and outcomes with near-perfect accuracy

Charismatic Sovereign: Words carry supernatural weight in diplomacy and leadership

I swallowed.

"That explains… a lot."

CLEOPATRA

Biological Perfection: Immune to disease, toxins, and aging

Medical Omniscience: Instantly understands all biological systems

Restoration Touch: Can heal others under defined limits

"She's our medical division," I said immediately.

No argument followed.

ALEXANDER THE GREAT

Conqueror's Momentum: Victories exponentially increase morale and strength

Battlefield Dominion: Absolute awareness of all allied and enemy positions

Unbreakable Will: Mental immunity to fear, corruption, and influence

"…He's our field commander," I murmured.

QIN SHI HUANG

Eternal Architect: Can construct structures that resist decay, time, and anomalies

Authority of Law: Rules imposed by him gain conceptual weight

Immortal Mandate: Extended lifespan with anomaly resistance

Containment.

Perfect containment.

GENGHIS KHAN

Economic Dominion: Can build, scale, and optimize any organization exponentially

Talent Recognition: Instantly identifies exceptional individuals

Empire Builder: Organizations under him grow unnaturally fast

"…He's our expansion engine."

One by one, the pattern became obvious.

Spies. Trainers. Historians. Suppression specialists. Moral anchors.

We weren't given random powers.

We were given roles.

I leaned back slowly, the full implication settling in.

The system hadn't just forced us to summon SCPs.

It had given us everything we needed to contain them.

And me?

I was the forge.

The one who could create tools, weapons, solutions—on demand.

I looked at the system interface one last time as a final message appeared.

[FIRST SCP SUMMONING — 29 DAYS REMAINING.]

I exhaled.

"Alright," I whispered. "Then let's build a Foundation worthy of what's coming.
