Yuno Hikari. An orphan who resides in an orphanage in downtown 21 City.
A cyberpunk city where fallen shinjos reside. Hikari and her friend Yumiora were at the age of only 4 at the time.
It was a present day with clouds and a slight bit of drizzle. Hikari asked Yumiora also known as Yumi. "I'm kind of hungry now. Can we eat something now Yumi?" "I'm hungry as well, I wonder if they are going to bring us any food, it's been a long time since we had any," Yumi replied.
We wandered around the playroom and crept around the hallways to see if anyone was there. I think I should go to the bathroom okay Yumi? "Yeah that's fine, just be quick, I get scared," Yumi replied. Well, I have to get to the bathroom soon.
As I sat in the toilet I started thinking... What would happen if I didn't eat food for three days? Could I survive? To be honest, I just want a family and a home to stay. I hope for the best. I washed my hands and left.
As I walked back to the playroom I saw Yumi using her Spec and it was quite cool I can't lie. In this world, there are two types of shinjos. Fallen shinjos and Beast shinjos.
I was a fallen and so was Yumi. We had a special power with the ability of RNG right when we were born. I couldn't tell if mine was decent but I took it as good in my opinion. It was basically ice shards. In this world, unique powers are known as "Specs," Yumi had very weak levitation.
I walked back to her and asked "Yumi, did you find anyone, I'm really hungry now and I can't find anyone," "Hikari, I couldn't find anyone either, are we gonna die today?" I hope not but I'm gonna go find someone to ask and can you come with me, lets go to the cafeteria and just ask someone.
As I was walking, I was thinking about Beast shinjos. They could disguise themselves as humans but when they turned to their real form they were big and strong with a lot of muscles, their skin color was red as their true form and they only had shinjo which is a type of energy and no Specs. They had better stats than anything and in this side of the world, 30% of Fallen shinjos reside while the other 70% were all beast shinjos. If you had a rare RNG you could easily beat any Beast shinjo. Fallen shinjos like us can technically win in a fight with a good RNG but we couldn't transform, we could only use a Spec that beast shinjos didn't have, and could defend ourselves with our HAX.
The only place we had was a big city called "21 City" It's a beautiful place with cool neon and advanced buildings. I'm just a kid, spare me some, I have a lack of desperate knowlegde. Beast Shinjos didn't have that, they had 4 collums of their side. We had each other seperated by a huge wall. They had a big giant monster who would command that part and they were not as advanced as us but still had a good city. They had 4 regions. We don't know the names but it was known as a bad place and a "Not to go there" place. That was what our teachers taught us.
We finally reached one of the teachers and I asked. "Hey sir, can we get food? It's been hours and we've been starving," As I said with a small chubby face. We were both little girls so we needed food FAST! The teacher said "When it's your turn, other kids are being fed for now and when it's your guy's turn, you can eat freely and don't worry, it will be in a short amount of time,"
We walked back to our playroom and I saw Yumi look at me and say "Hikari, I want food right now," She kind of looked like she was tearing up, I didn't want to tear up but I just saw a two drops of tears fall. I couldn't help myself and my emotions so I almost started tearing up.
As we were walking down the hallway we heard a loud unexpected BANG! Teachers instantly in the mic screamed 'LOCKDOWN! LOCKDOWN!" I got jumpscared and so did Yumi. We ran to the playroom screaming in fear and tripping on our way there. We saw the teacher running. And then a teacher as we were running grabbed us both with his hands and curled us up and took us to a small seperate storage room.
We both cried loudly, and I couldn't help it. I cried and so did Yumi. I heard other kids cry in fear. This is possibly the first time my anxiety rose so high that I thought I was gonna die and I thought of the worst possible scenarios from the start. Apparently, two Beast shinjos who somehow got through the huge giant humungus wall, and after that they ALSO got into this orphanage. Pretty bad luck.
I'm sure they're also pretty bloodthirsty for us. The teacher turned off the lights and told us to be quiet for a while, until they had left. We sat in the corner and we stopped crying but my anxiety made me want to cry. Yumi still whimpered a bit but. I was tapping her head to calm her down a bit. There was another kid who was a boy sitting on the other side of the room.
I looked to my back and saw a window leading us outside the orphanage. I saw it and I thought to myself, maybe I can escape with Yumi. But am I capable of breaking it? We heard footsteps from the right of the hallway closing up to our door. The teacher was also tearing up knowing that we might die here from some stupid Beast shinjos. The door suddenly banged and Yumi let out a loud scream of panic. This might be the end. The door slowly opened and I saw with my two eyes, A monster.
