This isn’t a story of a noble knight or a savior. This is the tale of a cynical knight in the hack-and-slash game world with the maximum difficulty setting. 

No system to help him.

No status panel to notify his progress.

No HUD to give him hints.

However, one hope remains. The knight “Crow” retains an in-game ability. By shattering objects or defeating enemy leaders, he can summon random game items as if the world itself is still a game. With a pet crow "Cow-Cow" by his side, the Crow Knight trudges through this treacherous land, armed with sarcasm, stubbornness, and a knack for minding his own business until fate decides otherwise.

Also, please do not speak in caps. He hates it.

Oh, did I forget to mention that his pet crow has three legs? What? It isn't important? Never mind, then.

This reminded me how terrifying paladins and priests could be. Rickson had wielded a similar power, which later made him a formidable lord.


I shook my head, discarding all thoughts of Rickson. He ruined my mood.


Aside from the blind priest, the other priestesses seemed weaker. My guess was that they were level 5 light users.


I opened my mouth to ask, but one of them answered before I could speak.


"Lord Alfred has assigned us to protect you. A total of 150 paladins and priests specializing in counter-espionage and assassination are watching over you day and night, even while you sleep. You may freely explore the academy without worrying about yourself or your comrades."


Wow. Alfred was already frightening enough, but his private Paladin Squadron was even more intimidating… in a quiet, passive way. They worked fast.


"You're welcome." The five priestesses bowed.
