Leon's Pov:
I woke up with my arms wrapped around Ava.
For a second I just stayed there, enjoying the comfort. She was sitting up slightly, leaning against the headboard. I moved closer and rested my chin on her shoulder.
"Good morning," I said, trying to pull her into a kiss.
She didn't move.
Her eyes were fixed on her phone.
I frowned.
"Ava?"
No response.
I lifted my head and looked at her face. Her expression looked tense.
"What's wrong?"
She hesitated for a moment before handing me the phone.
"Look at this."
I took it from her and read the message.
I hope you're ready.
Below it was a picture.
A picture of her working behind the counter at Alicia's bar.
My jaw tightened.
"When did you get this?" I asked.
"I don't know, this morning."
She ran a hand through her hair, clearly panicking.
"They can't post that," she continued.
"Ava—"
"They can't," she repeated quickly. "I can't let people find out I used to work in a bar or that my entire life was a lie."
