Jin stood beneath the gate that had split the sky open. He looked at it with eyes full of bitter regret, as if he were seeing the reflection of his own bad choices. He whispered to himself in a choked voice, "I wish I hadn't made a wish... I know my luck is miserable and cursed. Why did I wish for this?" This wasn't just any gate; it was the Fourth Gate, described in the novel as the "Great Disaster." A disgusting yellow mist began to leak into the air, crawling like a snake and signaling sickness and death.
Jin dashed into a frantic race against time, his mind screaming, "I have to run... I can't stay in this city. I must leave before the gate opens fully and those rabid monsters come out."
He rushed toward the subway, pushing past the crowds of people who were desperately trying to exit. He glanced at them with a mocking look, muttering, "Fools! You're coming out? You'll only find sickness up there." He jumped into a train car that was just about to leave. Inside, he found a strange group: a middle-aged woman, a man in his sixties, a Navy officer, and a seventeen-year-old boy. Jin took a breath and thought, "Great! With a group of people... Great, I made it." He sat in the corner and pulled out his book, The Abyss, trying to see what would happen next, but most of the pages were blank and white. He cursed his luck again: "Damn it! There is nothing useful in here now."
He began to bitterly recall the four laws that ruled this gate:
The Law of Time Analysis: Your age changes based on your sins.
The Law of Pain Reflection: Any injury you cause a monster reflects back onto your own body.
The Law of Biological Relativity: Your mind moves fast, but your body moves as if it's underwater.
The Law of Accelerated Entropy: Weapons and objects turn to dust in minutes.
Jin said fearfully, "Damn... everything is bad! I just hope those terrible monsters haven't come out yet." Suddenly, the world shook! The train hit something massive, and the sound of screeching metal filled the air as passengers were thrown into the sky. Jin slammed into the metal poles, and blood ran down his forehead, mixing with his old wound from the lizard.
As he struggled to get up with his weak body, he felt a iron grip lift him by his back collar. It was the Navy officer, who smashed the door open with his strength and pulled Jin behind him. Meanwhile, the old man, the boy, and the woman jumped out with a speed that shocked Jin. He wiped the blood away and muttered, "I've become the old man here... Damn it, I'm the only one who needed help."
The silence was broken by the sound of heavy, metallic footsteps: tap... tap... tap. Jin shouted to everyone, "Everyone, run! If you want to stay alive, run fast!" Behind them, "Danjig" appeared—a Rank 5 monster with a long, pale body and a smile that stretched from ear to ear, dragging the chains of death behind him.
When the boy tripped and the chains began to pull him back, Jin couldn't just leave him. He turned around and grabbed the boy's hand with all his strength, yelling, "Listen to me... run as fast as you can! It's your life, you idiot!" In a desperate move, he pulled out spray cans, lit them with his lighter, and threw them at the monster. "BOOM!" The explosion gave them enough time to reach the border of the West District, where the power of the Fourth Gate finally ended.
Jin fell to the ground, laughing with the joy of survival. "I escaped from hell!" But his laughter died and turned into shock as he looked up. A massive blue gate was hovering directly over his head... the Sixth Gate.
Jin knelt on the ground, raised his blood-stained hands to the sky, and screamed in agony: "You cursed author... I will curse you until the last day of my life!"
