Chapter 4 - First Meeting with Bulma

Just then, Goku, who had been buried under the rocks, jumped out again, showing no signs of serious injury.

"The Saiyan physique is impressive," Yamcha thought. "He took a hit at a fraction of my power and isn't hurt at all."

"I haven't lost yet!" Goku shouted loudly at Yamcha. "Take this! Rock-Paper-Scissors Fist (Jan-Ken)!"

"Is that so?" Yamcha walked over to Goku confidently and stood still.

Although Goku refused to admit defeat, he knew the young man in front of him was much stronger. His expression turned serious.

Under the System's observation, Goku's Power Level jumped to 12 points after using his technique. But that still wasn't enough for Yamcha.

The Jan-Ken attack was simple: a heavy punch, a two-finger eye poke, and a final palm slap. Yamcha didn't use much power, but his speed was impressive. No matter what Goku tried, he had time to react.

With one palm, he blocked Goku's punch. He wedged his left hand between Goku's fingers, stopping the poke. Before the final slap could land, Yamcha tapped Goku's wrist, halting the move cold.

"Ahhh! It hurts, it hurts!" Although Yamcha only tapped lightly, it felt to Goku like being hit by a truck.

"Your Jan-Ken is nothing more than child's play," Yamcha said with disdain.

This annoyed Goku greatly. This was the martial art taught to him by his grandfather, Gohan, and now it was being mocked. He charged at Yamcha again.

"Good spirit. Not enough." Bang, bang, bang. The Wolf Fang Fist was unleashed. Yamcha moved like a swift wild wolf, striking Goku's pressure points with quick hands.

Goku tried to dodge and block, but it was pointless. Yamcha wasn't even using his full power—sometimes even less than Goku—but his speed had increased by 50% with the Wolf Fang Fist, far more than what Goku could handle.

"Combat isn't just about brute force," Yamcha lectured during the fight.

Then, Goku was sent flying again.

After several rounds, Goku still hadn't gained an advantage, and his face was bruised. "Am I being too harsh? He's just a kid," Yamcha thought. But he reconsidered. Saiyans invaded planets from childhood; they couldn't be judged like humans.

Despite the beating, Goku's face showed no sign of defeat. Instead, an endless fighting spirit burned in his eyes. He rushed at Yamcha again and, while moving, pulled out the Power Pole from his back. He had exhausted all his options, even using his rarely used weapon.

Yamcha, knowing the Power Pole's capabilities, easily dodged the attack. He moved behind Goku and knocked him several meters away again.

Even with his unique physique, Goku's body was reaching its limit after Yamcha's continuous strikes, and walking became difficult. Yet, he still didn't give up, trying to launch another attack.

"The Saiyan's fighting spirit is truly impressive," Yamcha sighed. He wasn't cruel. He quickly got behind Goku again and knocked him out with a swift chop to the neck.

Just as Yamcha knocked Goku unconscious, a clear notification sounded in his mind.

[System: Congratulations, Host, for defeating the plot character 'Weak Goku.' Reward: 3 Skill Points.]

"Not bad. An unexpected surprise," Yamcha smiled. He hadn't realized he could earn Skill Points by defeating opponents, which saved him a month of training.

Suddenly, he thought of a way to gain points. If he followed Goku and kept defeating him, could he set up a steady stream? However, the System seemed to catch his thoughts, and its next message dashed that idea.

[System: Host, please note that the same important plot character can only provide a talent reward once per year.]

With no way to gain points continuously, Yamcha let go of the idea.

On the other side, seeing Yamcha knock Goku out, Oolong thought he had killed him. Panicking, he turned into a little bee to escape.

Looking at the bee, Yamcha had no intention of acting. "Puar, it's up to you."

"Alright, Master Yamcha!" Puar transformed into a fly swatter and quickly caught up to Oolong.

The fly swatter stretched like a bow and struck the little bee's head hard. Puar clearly used all his strength, letting out years of frustration from kindergarten bullying.

POW!

The little bee smashed into the sand, revealing Oolong's true form. Dizzily, he looked at Puar and Yamcha, then fled to hide under a nearby rock.

Coincidentally, this was exactly where Bulma was resting.

He quickly shook Bulma awake, wanting to pull her away to escape. Bulma had been sleeping soundly; the intense battle hadn't even stirred her.

Awoken, she looked at Oolong with annoyance. "Oolong, what are you doing? Why did you wake me up?"

"What time do you think it is? You're still sleeping! We've encountered bandits! Goku's been killed!" Oolong said fearfully.

"Ah..." Bulma's mind went blank. She had never imagined that the powerful Goku could be killed.

"Waaah..." She then began crying loudly. After all, she was only a teenage girl.

Just then, a cheerful voice came from outside.

"Hey, beautiful. Do you need any help?"

It was Yamcha. One look at the beautiful girl with large eyes and cyan-blue hair captivated him. Although he'd seen her many times in his past life, seeing her up close was still shocking. The original body's shyness around girls had disappeared when their souls fused.

Bulma looked up and saw a tall, handsome boy in orange clothes smiling at her. Yamcha's looks matched all her fairytale dreams of a prince charming.

Staring at Yamcha, Bulma's cheeks flushed crimson. She instantly transformed from a grieving girl into a shy maiden with a face like a blooming peach blossom.
