"What they did," the man finally began, his voice carrying none of the anger one should expect, "is definitely unforgivable."
"A single man's fault doesn't make an entire race criminal," Luke countered.
"Yes, but humans have always been infamous for their savagery. The only reason I survived was because they were in a state of panic, and I was their only hope of survival. That was until I revealed to them that there was, in fact, no hope left."
Luke hummed thoughtfully. "So you're saying that if you had appeared under any other circumstances, they would have killed you as well?"
"If under some circumstances I don't fight back then yes." The owl-faced man responded calmly before leaning back in his seat.
Luke crossed his arms and studied him for a moment. "So am I to understand that you never believed humanity deserved a chance, yet you still took the risk of entering that dangerous zone filled with savages and wildlings just to inform them of their inevitable doom?"
