Chapter 2 - 2: Dungeon World

Going home, he lay down in his bed and started checking his phone.

Checking each app carefully.

After a while, he found a new app called: Dungeon World.

Pressing it, his phone darkened and showed three options.

|Store (+). Physical abilities (+). Monsters (+).|

Pressing the store option.

|Dungeon store — points: 10.|

|Items (+). Potions (+). Spells (+). Skills (+). Function (+).|

Pressing the skill option, his phone showed him basic skills he would normally see in a fantasy series.

The spells for fireball, waterball, and such, exist.

Items for equipment like weapons and armor.

While potions were the healing, mana, and stamina.

What question him in this moment was the function option.

Just looking at it, he felt his heart beating fast.

|Function —

Dungeon entry. Price: 1,000 points.

Inventory space. Price: 10,000 points.

Level up. Price: 1,000,000 points.|

Just looking at the things available on it, the man realizes something about it quickly.

"I can't enter the dungeon again." He said, just reading the first one of them.

Thinking about it, he only entered that place because of the coin the goblin dropped.

He didn't enter it on his own, he was simply dragged into it.

Realizing this, the man started thinking about how he could go back to that place.

Since his home was just near the gate of his village, just right outside the highway, he could probably enter it again.

"Problem? How can I do it?"

Thinking about this, and seeing the hours nearing 12 midnight.

He closed his eyes and let his tired self sleep first.

The next morning, after cleaning up.

The man started thinking about how to get back to that place.

Since the goblin was there, it should have a home where it hide it's scavenged loot.

For a moment, he felt relieved about his current situation.

After his mother remarried, he found himself being shut down by his new family members.

Unable to take them, he decided to leave the house, and being a college student only, with no job, he couldn't do this.

Thankfully, his family owns farmlands, and in one of their lands, they have a tiny hut he could live in.

Was it lonely? Of course, imagine living your whole life with your mother only.

Suddenly, she brought a man with two people the same age as you, and those so-called "Siblings" of yours hated you.

He wanted to tell her to leave that man, but seeing how happy she was being with him, he couldn't bring himself to say it.

In the end, he decided to take care of himself, if it meant his mother being happy.

His home was just one big box, his bed set in the corner, opposite where the door of this place is.

In the corner of the door, a tiny stove is set, and next to that is his tiny kitchen drawer filled with two spoons, two plates, three bowls, one paddle, and one of both pots and a flat pan.

Next to his bed was the only drawer of his clothes, and where he hangs his wash clothes too.

The lights? It was just a solar panel one that would last the entire night if it received sunlight the entire day.

Even so, he was glad to live here.

Though lacking in some necessities, he was still able to live comfortably, minus the lack of internet.

While saying this, the man finally had an idea of how to get back in that place.

That very night.

He went to the bridge of the highway, just right outside the very welcoming sign of the village.

He ran back and forth, trying to recreate the event yesterday.

For a while, he was thinking whether what happened yesterday was just a dream or not.

But after three hours of repeatedly doing this, he found himself back in the dungeon.

|You have entered a dungeon.|

His phone told him.

"Haa!" He screamed. "It worked!"

He yelled again, before checking back on the goblin corpse he killed last night.

Just like he left it behind, the head of it was pierced open with the pickaxe near it.

The same area, where he picked up the coin yesterday, before he was thrown out of the dungeon.

"I should hurry now," he said, fixing his bag behind.

Exploring the dead forest, the man made sure to keep his flashlight on its lowest setting.

Not to save its battery, but to limit how much he was telling whoever was living here, he was there.

Unlike yesterday, when he just accidentally crossed over here, the man prepared for this tonight.

In his bag, it was filled with his kitchen appliances, like the flat pan, knife, and even a rope within it.

After moving through the dead forest for over an hour, marking his four hours of walking nonstop.

He noticed something moving in front of him.

"A goblin," he said, turning off the flashlight, and hiding behind a tree.

Waiting for this goblin to get to his position, he made sure to shut his mouth, even limiting his breathing to hide himself.

As the goblin passed by him, as he hid behind a tree, he took out a rope he had.

Slowly sneaking from behind, he threw the rope into the goblin's mouth, before kicking its legs from behind, making it go to the ground.

"Haaaa," he breathed out, finally letting himself make a noise.

Seeing the goblin trying to run, he took out his knife and pointed it at the goblin's eyes.

"I know you can understand me, so I'll give you a choice," he said, waiting for the goblin to react.

Seeing the goblin nod slowly, he said the choices.

"One, you bring me to another goblin den, and this den should have something I can take."

"Two, you bring me to your house, and I'll take everything in it." He said, helping the 1-meter-tall goblin back to its feet.

Before he knew it, the goblin the tied started moving back towards the area he was at yesterday.

A few meters away from the place the dead goblin should be, it turns left.

Seeing this, he smiled.

'So that goblin den was this near.' He thought, holding tight to the rope of his.

Another ten minutes of walking later, the goblin stopped moving beside a hollowed-out tree.

Seeing this, he told it to enter it first, before he does it.

The goblin then jumped into the hole in this tree. Seeing this, the man followed behind.

As he hit the ground floor of this tree, he found himself in a tiny home, where multiple piled-up goods were set.

Seeing this, the man took out something from his bag, and slowly he moved towards the treasure in the hole.

As he was about to pass by the tied goblin, he tripped over, spilling the liquid from the tiny container in his hand.

"Shit!" The man exclaimed, tapping the goblin, making sure it was safe.

"Anyway, you're free now." He said, to it, untying the rope he used on it.

The goblin, seeing he was free, quickly left the hole and started running back to where he was before the human found him.

Looking back at the tree they jumped in, the goblin made sure the human wasn't following him.

Waiting for ten seconds, the man left the hole and smiled.

"Ha, fooled you." He said, looking down at the ink mark in the ground.

"Didn't expect to get trace, huh?" He said to the goblin running away from him.

The liquid that he spilled was ink; he tricked the goblin into thinking it was nothing but water.

Now that the goblin is going back to its den, the man has two dens to take loot from.

Following the ink mark the goblin unknowingly left, the man smiled, just thinking how much he would have after looting both dens.

A moment later, the goblin stopped running and looked around its surroundings.

Before pushing away a fallen log, revealing a hole.

"That's its base!" The man said, slowly moving towards it.

Looking down on it, he checked whether it was too deep for him to jump in.

Thinking about the loot he would have, he didn't hesitate to jump down.

"Kreeeee!?" The goblin said, seeing the human right in front of the entry of its home.

Without giving the goblin a chance to move, the man pulled out the flat pan of his and hammered it on its head.

Knocking it down completely.

"Double reward!" He said, slitting the neck of the goblin.

Just like that, he took the second life of another human-like being in two nights.

Ignoring the dead goblin before him, and letting his heart calm down for a minute.

"Let's go." He said, moving towards the things the goblin has scavenged all this time.
