We ended up rearranging ourselves like it was a well-rehearsed performance.
The Kens took over the dining area, smiling, flirting, charming the life out of every female and male customer within a five-meter radius. The café buzzed like it had discovered caffeine for the first time.
Behind the counter, it was just us.
Yejin at the cash register, trying to look professional while her phone kept vibrating with new followers.
Micah and I, side by side at the fryer and prep station.
And me, trying not to feel like my life had quietly shifted into something brighter.
"Micah," I said casually while sprinkling salt over a fresh batch of fries, "how's school going?"
"It's going well," he said. "Actually… I wanted to talk to you about that."
I raised an eyebrow. "Did you finally change your mind about attending graduation?"
He had been so determined to skip it. Said ceremonies were pointless. Said he didn't need a stage to prove anything.
